Hi Guys,
Thought I would post up the results of a recent purchase I made from site sponsor Jackson Leathers.
So me being the 'average punter' was after my first set of leathers. Price was a big thing for me, but so was reputation.
You may remember the thread I posted up earlier that caused a bit of controversy.
So the story goes, Martin from Jackson contacted me after posting the thread offering me a set of two piece leathers for $599 (a price extended to all members). This was by far the best price I had seen for a set of leathers.
The catch was, there was limited sizing and limited colours. After sending plenty of emails backwards and forwards to Martin, it was decided that a size 46 (going off the Beriks I had tried before) would be to go, however this was against what Martin had advised (42) initially after I gave him my measurements. However what was reassuring was Martin said to me, if there is any sizing issues, send them straight back for a refund.
So the money was chucked in his account and the packaged shipped that day via courier to me.
Upon receiving the leathers it was quickly obvious they were too large. So I had them in the mail back to Martin after speaking to him about the issue. He gave me two options; send them back for a full refund or he will send up the size 42 for me and cop the postage charge.
So two days later I had a set of 42 Jackson leathers in my hands. I put them on the afternoon they arrived (yesterday) and wore them for the next 7 hours, yes 7 hours. Went and did 8 runs at WSID (with a pb of 14.1) and then had to ride another 70k's back to my work, then home.
By the end of the night, I reckon I could have left the suit on for another 7 hours. It had become very comfortable and feeling close to worn in.
The leathers are light and very soft, making it very comfortable to wear. The armor is good quality dual density foam and stays where its meant to be. They breathe extremely well, and did not sweat at all in them. However they kept my quite warm on the highway at midnight last night. The zippers are strong, and the construction, using expandable nylon panels is great for comfort.
Obviously I cant (and am not really willing) to test the main purpose of the leathers, but I will report back here after a track day or two as to how they are holding up.
The overall outcome; Great service! Great product!
