We’ve put our big wheels back on with trail tyres but the dirt is not that challenging so motard wheels will be ok.

Just got a PCV with Autotune and I been reading up heaps on these things but I was wondering would it make sense to get out on a long straight road and from a standing start, steadily power through all the gears, pull the clutch, brake to a stop, repeat.

Im just thinking it might at least avoid the issues with weird values because of back pressure. Is there a reason I havnt read anyone else suggest doing this?

I would like to know the default state for the Green LED that shows your indicators are flashing. Since replacing a busted flasher relay the Green LED is on from when I first start the bike. It flashes normaly when I indicate but i'm sure when I first got the bike it was off until I indicated.

Any help would be much appreciated, really hoping i dont have to track down a short :evil: but looking at the wiring diagram I cant see how a short would do that.

Indicators are all stock,
Flasher Relay is a 3pin aftermarket from my local yami dealer - Jin Yi 12v 8-23W

Picked up my first sumo the other day, a 2000 ktm 640 LC4.

the previous owner had it stored in the shed for a year and a bit so it ran a bit funny when I first picked it up. was out for a ride with a couple of mates and it kept stuttering and stopping as if it was running out of fuel :down:. so we limped it back to my mates place and tore it down:

checked the carbie (seems to be fine, no powder or blockage). next day after uni we return to the bike to drain its tank and we find this:

some nice clean fuel!

so we cleaned out the tank with new fuel and she seems to be alright at the moment. we did do one stupid thing though... we overfilled its oil (by a fucking huge amount) and ever since then the oil has been spewing up through the overfill and onto the rear tyre :oops: , hopefully it doesn't throw it all up, I'll keep an eye on its gauge. Im hopefully going to be doing an oil change and air filter clean this weekend.

havn't had much time to test it out but seems alright so far, hates driving under 60 clicks and im still a little worried about my stupidity in overfilling it with oil. needs some new rubber and some new front pads but other then that she should be good!

Looking to sell as a complete package however if it doesn’t sell after a few weeks I might consider selling in parts.

1. Wheels – Genuine KTM Hard Parts front & rear (4.25”) with Michelin Pilot Power tyres. Wheels and tyres have done about 750 kms.

2. Brakes – Two front discs + one rear. Also Brembo radial caliper with braided line to a brembo non-radial master cylinder. Best brakes I have ever used with fantastic feel – I tried two other master cylinders including a radial setup before going for this one.

3. Sprockets & Chains – 3 x rear sprockets and 2 x chains of different lengths.

4. Suspension – Genuine KTM SMR front/rear suspension. Lower ride height and springs/valving to suit supermoto. Original dirt suspension can only be described as crap on the road compared to this set up. Note: forks are set up for a radial caliper and I also have a speedo sensor so you can hook it straight up to your KTM gauge.

5. Front Fender – Genuine KTM

6. Slipper Clutches – 2 x KTM Hard Parts slipper clutches. One is showing signs of wear, other is good to go. Also have clutch side gasket but no clutch plates, I just used my original ones.

7. Triple Clamps – 14mm offset triple clamps from a KTM SX 125. I was surprised that a few mm makes a difference but it definitely improved front end feel.

8. Side Stand – Shorter supermoto length side stand.

9. Seat – Enduro Engineering softer and taller seat. Could be used make a stepped seat if you don’t need a taller one.

10. G2 Throttle – Tamer throttle cam which I was going to use for a tight single trail I used to ride but once I went supermoto the dirt wheels never went back on.

11. Other – 4 x Oil Filters, 2 x Used Air Filters, Haynes Workshop Manual, 2 x Air filter hole covers, 2 x peg sliders.

Parts are from my 2004 KTM 450 EXC that I sold in dirt trim. Most parts should also fit later and other capacity KTMs but if you are not sure I am sure someone on here will know. I am located in Medowie, NSW which is about 25 minutes north of Newcastle. Pick up only, too much stuff to ship.

Selling my 2006 Husqvarna TE450 Motard which is still registered until February 2013. I bought it in 2011 to use as a daily commuter between home and university (15min), but I just don't get the time to ride it any more.

The bike has:
Upgraded Front Brakes
KTM Jetting
Radiator Guards
Supermoto Front & Rear Plastics
Factory SM Rims from Husqvarna
Pirelli Angels front and rear (90% tread)
- There's bound to be a few things that I've missed

I bought these with the intention of putting them on, but never got the time to do so.

- Additional Fuel Tank (Long Range)
- Original Off Road Wheels/Tyres
- A whole tool box full of spare parts (radiator, clutch levers, sprockets etc)

The bike has been meticulously serviced and has 227hours/7000km(not accurate due to the motard wheels, the kms would actually be less)on it. If interested I also have an Alpine Stars Jacket/Road Boots that can be thrown in.

The only problem currently with the bike is that the exhaust brackets have cracked and need to be re-welded, this has been factored into the price.
