If you are following my 'adventures' I am trying to get started in supermoto.

Now that I have the bike with the mods I wanted, the next step is the gear.

I've never ridden road so all I have is motocross boots, knee braces, a pressure suit, dirt gloves, etc. and also some textile clothing but never had leathers before.

So here are my questions:

- one or two piece?
- Any brand in particular you can recommend that I can try and buy in around Sydney

I went to MCAS and tried sportsbike leathers and appart from feeling very movement restricting (but remember I have never used them before and I am comparing it to dirt riding gear so maybe that's normal) I defnitely didn't like the semi-crotched posture they forced.
Is there any brand that let you seat on the bike straight or they are only made for sportsbikes and you have to just get used to it?

Cheers.

Martin, are you near Sydney?
I like the look of the suit on the pics but to buy one I have to try it first.
The textile I have now is a 58 (european).

Hi antipode

I found berik full race suit are very popular. If you go to the Honda store in parramatta, u should get 1 for about 550 depending on size availability.

the other option if u want movement, something light and something supermoto specific is the MVD Racewear. check it out here - http://www.motoworks.co.nz/shop/22-pants

looks even better in real life!!

Alpinestars also made a Supermoto specific 1 piece suit which I've had (but was cut off in an accident) I now have a custom set of AHRS leathers from Shane.

Alpinestars also made a Supermoto specific 1 piece suit which I've had

Ring Jess at Peter Stevens Ringwood to see if they have any Alpinestars suits left, they were clearing them out at $749. (03)8870-0300.

Irena makes awesome leathers. Same brand that gozzini wore when he was racing with TM. She has motard specific cuts etc.

He could have killed a cow, tanned the leather, done an apprenticeship in master leather making and made his own set in that time. :P

this is the reply I got from Jackson racing, sounds like a bargain or two is there to be had:

We made Supermoto suits a few years ago and when we national series sold a lot of them
Recently I took all remaining and some 2 piece coloured road suits to Don's Leather Works in Frankston to clear some room here and give them some new exposure, I'm concentrating on more traditional jackets / pants now .
for a bargain suit ring Don 9781 5967
Or we can make a custom special, made to measure, any details you want
Cheers
