OK, I haven't as much as touched my XR since 19th of march, so I'm kind of itching to go for a ride. I reckon sometime within the next 6 months I'll try and get it going again
Anyway, I was thinking of trying out one of these azon distanzia thingys on rear the bike. Seems like it could be good because I end up ridding in the dirt often as on the road, and GPR70s a bit crappy in slippery going. Unfortunately my bikes only got a 4" rear rim and smallest tyre availible is a 150.
So my question is, what will happen to me if I put it on. Will kaiser soze get me?? :lol2:

Your bike will instantly explode in a sea of red and white of course :lol2:
As long as you don't have any clearance problems it will just pinch slightly. But in reality I don't think it'll be all that much different to what you have now - I've found the GPR70's to be a little bigger than what they actually are, so a 140 is probably more like a 145, and conversely the avons seem to be slightly under (my 150 measures about 148 on a 4.25). So probably 2/10ths of sweet FA diff no doubt.
Anyway, if it doesn't fit I'll buy it off you for half price
I wouldn't worry, i'm running a 165 bridgestone slick on a 4.25 inch rim and all that happens is that i don't get it over to the edge.
It looks funny though, i've got big melted balls of rubber next to 10mm chicken strips.

I remember seeing a list of tyres and their respective measured widths on the net a while ago. It was interesting to see the real width of a tyre on different sized rims, most were wider than what they should have been. It could have been on supermotojunkie.

It's the same with cars most people put tyres wy too big for their rims. They end up flexing too much and never really live up to there true performance. I have to say I don't know shit about bike tyres I purely go on recommendations from people I trust!

Normally fitted with a 140/70 poo-tyre your rim will take the extra 8mm as the Distanzia measures 148mm wide on a 4.25...
Fit 'em up Anti and get up here the GP's coming soon mate.. ;)

Yeah, I think I'll give one a go, muzz.
Sorry to be a wet blanket, but I don't think I'll be going anywhere at GP time. Well not to the GP, or up the hills or anything. Life's a bit too messed up at the moment. Maybe next year :)
