I keep getting disheartened with the lack of tracks available for us to ride on. TT is about a two hour drive. The Corio karting track in Geelong looks like it would be great fun but they are not interested in having us. Has anyone ever approached the people who run the Phillip Island GP kart track to open it up for motards. It is great fun to ride the full GP circuit but feels a bit pointless on the DRZ. I was just thinking about it today. Any one know?

Is it 100% confirmed that Corio won't even consider us?

3 of us rode phillip island cart track (un-offically ofcourse) at last years superbike weekend, we had quite a crowd watching too, ha ha!
we are racing there next year
AS above 5th December Sunday come to Stony Creek Kart track...great day. You just need sliders everywhere, The sliders on the pegs have to stick past the end of the pegs and you need axle sliders as well as bar sliders....a pretty easy to do but apparently this time round no sliders in the right places no riding.
Still it will be a great day....just like the last one.
what do you mean by peg sliders having to go wider than the peg?
By how much?

That will be good to see. I am hoping to make it to stoney creek. As usual it depends on work, wife, kids, whether my Z is going etc. I need sliders for my bike, trying to get my hands on some delrin to make some. Thanks for the responses guys.

Thats part of a race series Jove
There is no opportunity as it stands for track access without it being 'sanctioned and insured' is what I meant.
that could change after the track license is done and the owners see the potential

Keeping the fingers crossed as that was my thoughts too ;)
James...officially they want the peg sliders to be in a position that if it tips on the side the slider hits the ground first not the peg...I just moved mine out a few mm and they stick out just enough to touch first. Personally I don't think a bike with peg sliders it going to cause track issue. Just make sure you have bar sliders and I am sure it should be all good. I will try to post a photo of how I did it during the week.

After I rebuild the CRF another 3 times, get the coveted "King of Bling" title, get my dream car and a house with a bigger dining room...

A miracle of modern medicine!:D
Fingers crossed the island organisers can see the future potential revenue in letting motards use the kart track. I will definitaly be there for the ASBK. Thanks to all the guys who keep putting in the hard work to help the rest of us.
