Hi all,
Without giving too much away, I am involved in running a big motorsports event in Melbourne in early 2011 and would like Supermoto to be involved.
There will be no cost to the club or riders involved to be apart of this event and it will provide you with a huge amount of exposure in front of 40,000+ people.
Could someone please advise if there is a Club President or Secretary that I can be put in touch with to discuss this further?
Thanks in advance.

Maybe a bit more info? Grade of rider? All bitumen track? Time of year? Category/bike capacity? Promo or competition?

Hi Martyd,
This event will be in March on a full bitumen, temporary circuit. Supermoto's involvement would be in a promotional/exhibition capacity so there would be no restrictions on the type of bike, however I would see it in the their best interest to provide their best riders/bikes for this event.
If you are aware of an authorised representative of the club, can you please get them to contact me regarding this.
Regards.

Hello there, I am sure you would attract numbers just by making the event cheap/free for competitors, alone. (motard racers are pretty tight....)
I would PM Jovian or Daws on this site. They are involved in things this end of the country, so will be able to help you with contacts down your end.
Generally speaking, Moto riders have been starved of events over the last few years, so the active racers are not big.
In saying that, we over subscribed(I missed out) on a recent event in Qld Raceway, with the ASBK, so there is potential to draw a field.
Moto riders do appreciate some dirt component, however. This should guarantee some sort of turnout

There is no "authorised" person down here, whatever you require, let me know (confidence will be kept), I know a majority of riders and plenty of people in the industry. If you want something organised, I will assist.

G'day TGLFAus,
This isn't a "club". It is a public forum for people who ride supermoto's.
If you want to arrange a promo event involving supermotos, post up all the deatails on this forum and I'm sure forum members will attend, myself included.
TGLFAus - as stated by others, this is a forum for like minded Supermoto riders, some of whom, myself included, who race and are involved with motorcycle racing clubs.
Your options are to approach one of the established clubs in Victoria (Preston MCC, Hartwell etc.) or approach Motorcycling Australia direct, they ran the recent Australian support classes at the MotoGP (with the help of the officials from ASBK via IEG) and are primarilly interested in the larger events which could prove costly to a club.
If you require further information, PM myself, Jovian or Markeemark and one of us should be able to help you out.

Thanks to all who have posted a response.
Before the rumour mill starts, I can confirm it is NOT the F1 at Albert Park.
Daws, I will send you a PM now with my details. It would be good to have a chat so we can discuss further.

Good luck mate, be good to have another event!
LIke the others have said PM MARKEE, BENNYV and JOVIAN. These guys have had a lot to do with getting some events going and also encouraging others to get out there and race.

Or you could PM me -
There is no current Representative for Supermoto on either Motorcycling Victoria or Motorcycling Australias current Commissions.
If you are looking at eventing in Victoria I can possibly help you.
I have been speaking with a Promoter / Track Owner - Operator regards eventing in Victoria as a 'stand alone for motorcycles including supermoto feature' in particular.
Recently in conference with several International riders (USA based) with them seeking information regards coming here to compete some cross disciplined events on the Eastern seaboard.
This can only be a good thing right?

Update -
There has been some progress made in relation to this tonight.
This is separate event to whats being also planned for Victoria early next year by other parties.
I cant tell you too much as yet - but will as it unfolds and advertising management plan allows.
As mentioned in the OP -
It is essentially riding demos on a temporary circuit close to the CBD along with an opportunity to pit bikes in a public area and speak to the public about supermoto - hand out flyers, merchandise etc.
Being an exhibition event and as such it is by invitation / nomination and only a very limited number of participants can take part in the riding phase of the event.
There is a possibility of a static display within the event area although it has not been confirmed regards allocation and costing
There is a short list of riders and bikes prepared so you may receive an email in the coming days offering a position.
It spans 4 days - there will be up to 6 rides per day over the 4 days / 10 - 15 minutes per session.
As it is not racing licencing requirements will be advised - insurance is organised.
We can offer commentary to the time supermotos are circulating - a knowledgable person with some PA skills will be sought for that role.
Portions of the event will be televised.
A new thread will be started when necessary to appraise all of whats what and when in due course
Stay tuned!
