Hey Dave,
We are in the throws of rebuilding Supermoto in NSW since there has been about a 2 year lull. Our club, New South Wales Supermoto Riders Club is MA affiliated and is trying to get some racing going, but this is harder than you would expect due to lack of tracks with licence and tracks with a handy patch of dirt, lots and lots of red tape.
When we get on top, (hopefully in the next couple of months), we will then have to see who turns up before we decide what classes to run at the club events.
Suffice to say, in the main core of regulars, we have a variety of bikes from a CR125 through to 570Bergs and the usual 550Aprilias. We are very keen to run a non-competitive class too for newbies and will be inviting standard wheel bikes for those who don't want to splash out too much at first.
If you want my opinion, with my recent experiences, you can't go past the 450's for that thoroughbred combo of weight, handling and power.
Would love to catch up and chat about this stuff with you instead of long winded threads, we could fill you in properly in a short space of time.
Why don't you PM me and I'll contact you through the week. Or email president@nswsmr.com.au
Cheers,
Steve
