I had an issue with doing quite a few plugs in a real short time.I got the bike(sm 610) tuned to specs I was told by several different people.Long story short got the plug changed back to new orig. spec after having an NGK cr8eix in it and was told it was showing signs of fouling as well.I find that the bike goes well if you feed in the power gradually.
Now for the questions.I was wondering if you guys thought that maybe plugs are fouling due to perhaps carb pump timing,ie,cant deal with all the fuel at once so it kind of stutters-then responds.Or,jetting still out.Or,I was thinking of trying something like a powernow carb mod which if you believe the hype is supposed to "allow all the fuel(dialled up by throttle opening)to get into the carb rather than part of(all the fuel)and thus removing FCR carb boging in the first part of throttle opening".Suggestions and thoughts, please.

What's your jetting like? Aparently they come jetted lean on main and rich on pilot out of the crate. General consensus seems to be to drop the pilot from the 52 to a 45 and stick a 180 or 185 main in it and richen up the slide clip by one position, or go for a JD needle from the SMR450/510.

If you're already there, then I'd also check your air filter to make sure nothing is impeeding air flow and artificially richening things up. Are you running a stock exhaust or slip-on?

I know that a lot of guys were putting the CRF pumps in the SMR because the standard one was dumping way too much fuel in. Might be the same on the 610 as well, don't know. :-k

If none of the above jetting fixes help your cause are you using optimax by any chance?

What about a Boysen power shot or what ever it's called?

No i dont use optimax i use either synergy 8000 or bp premium .I've got issues with bike-battery( blew the top off it) obviously caused by some issue that may even contribute to the problem.
