Just wondering if anyone has kitted their DRZ with the 436 kit? I'm liking the bike in general, but getting a bit bored with the power. Will the 436 kit help quench this temporarily? Does anyone know how much the whole conversion costs and if it affects reliability?
Cheers,
Peter.

Yep, I stuck one on mine along with cams and a full system. The big bore should set you back around about $800, which includes boring the cylinder, supplying the new piston and rings and an oversize gasket kit for it. If you're handy you can fit it yourself without too much drama, but a shop will probably spent about 4-6 hours on it at a guess.
The cams ("HotCams") I bought from the US over ebay and cost me about $350 landed. Reliability wise you should be good, although my gearbox just went last wednesday :?
I can definately recommend the changes in the 'yee-haw' stakes. Mine woke up quite nicely, and at the track I was a bit faster in a straight line with Kimo despite pulling the equivalent of about 9 fewer teeth on the rear sprocket.
Of course the cost of doing this has to be weighed up against the cost of a bike upgrade, but if you're handy with tools and enjoy working on bikes (ok, I admit, I might just very slightly enjoy this part of it :) ) then it's definately something worth considering...
