'There Will Be Dirt' MX on the motard.
I'm gonna head out to Broadmeadows MX Park this Saturday 27th Feb for a couple of hours..
It's $30 to ride and Ambulance membership is compulsory as are MX boots.
Opens at 10am till 5pm.
I'll be on slicks and will be taking my wet wheels just in case it is a bit damp.
Come and have some safe fun in the dirt.

I won't be there Mark, tomorro is the only chance i got to bring my bike to my local husky dealer (Wallan Husqvarna) for a service and a couple of other things, without taking 2-3 hours off work (just started a new job) Unfortunately they're not open Sundays

Great day today. Slight drizzle which kept the dust to a minimum and the track was just dry with one or two puddles which were avoidable.
I suffered hard from arm pump in my 1st 3 attempts, each lasting just 2 laps and each time I was softening up the suspension and eventually I was comfortable doing 5 or 6 laps then having a break.
The track was very, very rough so softening it up helped heaps. I came off once on the triple step up but no damage to me or bike and nearly went over the bars on one of the table tops another time.
Great fun and really showed me I need a lot more time and strength to muscle round the heavy ass Aprilia.
Bottomed out the bike a couple of times on the main table top near the office and gave the bash plate a big hit once and decided after that to just take it easy.
Slicks were fine offering pretty good grip but watching everyone else on knobs go thru some of the corners made me hang for a set of big wheels and appropriate tyres!
Bikes all clean now and getting prepped tomorrow for it's journey north next week.
When it's back in Vic I'm planning to get out there once a month weather permitting just to ride on dirt cos it's another challenge to get the skills up to a better level.
Cheers Mark

How low is your bike? I have never seen or heard of anyone bottoming out there dirt bike on a MX track enough to give there bashplate a whack.
Sounds like it is a good track, ever been to Barrabool for a ride? I've heard alot of good things about it. It's a bit too far for me to travel for a ride though.

Ash the factory motards are lower from the factory than an mx bike converted.
There's a pic around of Joe bottoming his SXV somewhere as well.
Not far off it here. Shot was taken in Perth and I hadn't touched the suspension. Jumps were bigger at Broady.
Never ridden Barrabool either.

Karl the video is on the broady mx track website here http://www.mxtv.com.au/reviews/pages/0705_broady.html
And yes it was hard work on slicks but well worth it!

Be warned it is no way near as smooth as seen in that video, this track is rough as guts!
Braking bumps into every corner and out. It has big jumps too, not for the faint hearted.
Sorry to break it to you.
