Hi Everybody, as most of you probably know I got my self a new SM610S and would like to celebrate by buying you all a round of drinks for good luck –mostly luck for me- you know I’ll need it with my record. :drinking:
I was thinking the best and easiest place would be in the CBD (which stands for Central Motard Play-ground) but I don’t know any good pubs so suggestions would be appreciated.
Please keep the suggestions with in the CBD constraints being La Trobe, Spring, Flinders and Spenser streets otherwise we’ll be here for ever trying to figure out where to go. :pimp:

Belgium beer cafe on st kilda rd ;)

Crashalot
12-06-2006, 09:36 PM
I’ve heard about it but never been cos it sounds poshy like some place Brightoners would hang out.
If everyone else votes for it I guess I have no choice but I’d much rather go someplace in the CBD where skanks and bums hang out. At least then one of us mite actually get lucky (or HIV) or at the very least be involved in a good old fashioned brawl. What’s the point of drinking with out the possibility of one and/or the other?

Wobbly
12-06-2006, 09:46 PM
Well, yes, its a bit yuppie and quite expensive I guess :?

I will be in melbourne this weekend so I will come, was going to ask you guys what the best places to go & where and what sights i should see.

jakestein
13-06-2006, 01:07 PM
I cant make it but the beer cafe is ok :)

Why not Young and Jackson across from Flinders st station, they have 15+ beers on tap (Bohimian pilsner Neil) great well priced bar food, plus it would be cool to see some pissed motard riders leave  :banghead:

XXXX ?

Sibbo
13-06-2006, 04:19 PM
XXXX ?
Do you mean XXX at Hosieswww.hosies.com.au?? ITs the block over from Y & J
I went to school with the son (who works there now) of the owner of that fine establishment, Hosies that is!

SM93
13-06-2006, 04:25 PM
that sounds good, many good strip clubs in Melb and where are they ?

SM93
13-06-2006, 05:23 PM
what about goldfingers, mens gallery and spearmint rhino ?

jakestein
13-06-2006, 07:18 PM
I partialy remember Goldfinger's as a drunk&stoned 16yr old on our trade school end of year trip

Strippers are the same every where..

Crashalot
13-06-2006, 07:44 PM
Now you’re talking my language. Bar-20 is the best. Better then Gold fingers or Men’s Gallery. It’s on the north east side of the flinders lane, Kings Way intersection.
But No. It’ll make motard riders look so bad when people see eight motards parked outside. That XXX place sounds good. Where’s that?
P.S. very nice avatar Jackstin; even better then Flashe’s but not as hypnotic.

Wobbly
13-06-2006, 10:31 PM
Err, depending on memories I may not be let back in goldfingers  :drinkers: :partyman: :Hangman: :-"

Sibbo
14-06-2006, 08:01 AM
That XXX place sounds good. Where’s that?

Hosies?

Cnr flinders and elizabeth. Its not as good as the other places...well its a hole! But I did see a double act that...well.....was....er.....fugging unreal!!!

Bull shit Sibbo you're not old enough!

Crashalot
14-06-2006, 09:30 PM
Wait, you mean XXX is a strip joint!
Well come to think of it I should have figured that out from the name…man I’m stupid.
Every thing in strip-joints is over priced, especially drinks so that’s out of the question. Last time I told me self I’ll only spend $8 entry and I ended up spending $150...I’m weak!
So far the best suggestion has been Nile’s Belgium Beer Gardens so if no one comes up with nothing better by tomorrow then that’s where we’re going.
Also what time would be best? Is 9:30 on Saturday OK with everybody? I can’t make it earlier unfortunately.

This thread degenrated quickly to smut. :)

Which is actually quite an achievement, as most of them start out as such and just go downward even more :lol2:

should be good I'll ride in with Neil on his new bike! :D

SM93
15-06-2006, 09:16 AM
Cool, i will come in for that.

Put the address down on the site and I will try to work out where that is. I am staying pretty close to the city at a backpackers.

Will be good to see motards from another state.

Sibbo
15-06-2006, 10:22 AM
Bull shit Sibbo you're not old enough!

Thanks, but unfortunatly I am approaching a very terrible number IMO....and it ends in 0. But i have a few years (well a few plus some!) of carefreeness left, I better make the most of them!

Wobbly
15-06-2006, 11:50 AM
I think the place is called "Bluestone Cafe"? It's on St Kilda Rd right next to Wesley College. I'm quite happy to go anywhere though. :)

Sibbo
15-06-2006, 12:09 PM
Just make sure you take a suit case full of cash, as drinks are a bit $$ at the above place.

Normally the only time I drink there, is when the boss' credit card is on the bar and then its great!!!

Wobbly
15-06-2006, 12:55 PM
So here's an alternative for you - the james squire brewhouse on Russle St. Good beer, reasonable prices, pool tables, etc... Just on the corner of Russle St and Little Collins St...

Crashalot
15-06-2006, 07:53 PM
Yes! Good work Neal.
‘James Squire’ it is. Being on an intersection it would be fairly easy to find but to make it a tad easier do you remember on which corner of the intersection it is i.e. wether it’s north or south side of Lt Collins and wether it’s west or east of Russel St?
Also; is 9:30 on Saturday OK with everyone?

Wobbly
15-06-2006, 08:36 PM
Its the NW corner (I think?) ... anyway, its diagonally oposite from the BHP building, which I know well as our office used to be in it a couple of moves ago...

Flash
15-06-2006, 09:11 PM
So Neil what am I riding in on ? :D

Crashalot
15-06-2006, 09:49 PM
Sorry Nile, I hate to sound like a know all (really; locations and bike-sales is all I know) but the BHP building is on Russel and Lonsdale St which is three city blocks north of Lt Collins…so I’m very confused now.

Wobbly
15-06-2006, 10:50 PM
That's the new BHP building - the old one is 120 collins st, corner of collins and russel...sorry, should have made that clearer

Wobbly
15-06-2006, 10:53 PM
And ash, ask me tomorrow night :lol2:

Crashalot
15-06-2006, 11:13 PM
That makes perfect sense. Thanks Nile.
So that should be very clear: If you're standing in the middle of the Russel St and Lt Collins St...(watch out for cars!)...and you're facing Collingwood then it's on the left hand side.
I haven't heard any objections regarding my suggestion of 9:30pm on Saturday night so that's the time then. Hope to see you all there!

Sibbo
16-06-2006, 12:23 PM
Well I am going to let the cat out of the bag and tell you what neil got.

He bought my 6r, as a fill in bike, cos he likes the light weight (180 odd kgs), the huge power below 7,000rpm, the massive ground clearance and the snappy handleing!!!!

But I think what swayed him, was the paint scheme. Undercoat with bog and bits of the original green comming through!

Flash

You going to Nunawading tomorrow

Sibbo
16-06-2006, 04:43 PM
I assume you are talking to me.

Err...not sure about MX, cos I re hurt (from last sat) my back yesterday and it wont be 100% tomorrow and I have a 25 page assignment to do soon enough.

I will head past the track on the way home tonight and if it looks pristine, then I will ride, but if its a bit snoty, then I will be a nerd instead.

And no comment from you on neils new bike....does no one feel that neil would want a clapped out 6r??

You mean ZX6R right? That’s surprising.
Well…seeing as this is the ‘Drinks on Crashalot’ topic; I should mention now that I can’t make it before 9:00. I have tickets to a “certain event” (it’s to do with the an Ex-girlfriend so don’t anybody ask what event it is. Trust me; you don’t want to know!).
But you guys can meat up there at 8pm if you want and I’ll do my best to leave as early as I can.

I was going to attempt to come tomorrow night for a few and say hi.
Looks like I might not be riding this new SMC out tomorow arvo.
Not f*&%ing happy Jan.
This has been going on for weeks but I wanted to get the best interest rate and that took a bit of shopping.
If I make it it Sat night it will be a mucking firacle but if I push the workshop manager tomorrow morning then It might get PD'd during the day....

I have my HardE equipment picked out of the catalogue and I should get it next week, got some nice front and back fork sliders coming, a billet fuel cap, fork bleeders, stainless open airbox cover, footpeg sliders and a few other nifties on the way. De-restrict the zorsts and the carb and I'll be happy. :)

Nuf from me, hope to see you guys tomorrow night if I can pull a favour and get this thing delivered early.

Rubber sideways,

Trust me Flash, this is one of those times in life when you think you want to know something but once you find out you wish you hadn’t. 8-[ But I can promise that it’s not something evil or something that would prove I’m a psycho-maniac. :axe:
Like I said about the strip joint: I’m very week around women (I can’t argue with them). A woman can change everything about me with the only exception being: motorbike riding. My Ex tried and that’s why she became my Ex.
I’m so addicted to bikes that when ever I don’t ride for an extended period of time I have to turn to weed to fill the void. :rarrow: :smokin:
So what I’m tring to say is that this event is really more my ex’s thing not mine.

Rubber sideways,

Don’t worry if you can’t get your bike ready by then. Since we’re getting on the piss I was originally thinking of catching the train but now only because of the time restraints I’ll have to ride down but I’ll be on my sensible XT O:) rather then the crazy SMS :busted: .

Got the bike this arvo, PD was finished at 4:59pm so it was pretty touch and go.
If I make it tonight I'll be the tall bloke in the KTM jacket with not much hair either. I'll leave my lady at home as I have conveniently left the pillion footpegs off. hehe

If you’ve been on this forum for awhile don’t tell anyone what you look like. It’s more fun trying to figure it out. Unfortunately I still remember what Nile looks like (from the time I tried to keep up with him through traffic- that’s something you never forget) but there’s still Flash and Sibbo. Too bad for us Dicky’s in Thailand. :|

Sorry guys. The spagetti and meatballs my mrs made me totally immobilised me and I couldn't get off the couch. The thought of a 25km old bike with new waxy tyres mixed in with some alcohol was probably not a wise move for me either. I hate saying no to a beer, lol.
Looks like drinks on the KTM owners next time. :)

I'm off riding now, into the CBD and surrounds for a bit of good old 'tard hooliganism.

Crashalot

Did you guys end up showing Jovian the casino?

Hay Jovian, don't forget to see the Grollo tower before you leave Melbourne. It's right next to the IBM building on 60 city road, South bank.
If you thought the rialto is big it's only about 50 stories next to Grollo's 80!
I don’t want to spoil it for you so here’s a picture of the original plane which was going to be 120 stories:
http://www.emporis.com/files/transfer/6/2000/12/122531.jpg
So now you have to go see it to see what it really looks like.

Wobbly
18-06-2006, 01:12 PM
Nah, we ended up leaving and dropping jovian back at chappel st at frostbites at 2 somethingorother, where he skillfully managed to walk in looking confident enough that the bouncer never suspected the multitude of tequillas that were just consumed

Nah, it was all good, I actually don't mind driving on nights out, as it gives me a good laugh nonetheless :)

And sibbo was very dissapointing - no show at nunawading, then no beer drinking! Of course I think jovian and sibbo together under the influence of beer would have got us well and truely evicted, if not beaten up! :lol2:

Sibbo
20-06-2006, 12:31 PM
WTF? Im a poof?

Hey, I had an a bloody big assignment (50% of final subject) to do, still do. So I had to be good and not kill brain cells.

Well well well.....So Jovian is a drunk as well?! Cool! So not this weekend, but the one after. Who is keen to get blotto and go do wheelies?? Or possibly, wheelies then go get blotto, as the more sensible thing to do.
