From an Italian website, translated by google.

This is one of those news that are good for the Supermotard. Aprilia seem seriously interested in returning to the World Supermoto formally. The test we had a few days ago when, during a visit to the Aprilia Racing, we came across this MXV version sSpermotard. The Aprilia Racing is where are mounted RSV4 of Biaggi and Camier, the MXV of Coppins and Bill and RXV who arrived on the podium last Dakar "Chaleco" Lopez. A place from which emerge only in short bike "factory".
And, in fact, the MXV Supermoto we saw at once it seemed very well prepared, with an appearance by "official" and not a mere "experiment" extemporaneous. Gigi Dall'Igna, head of Aprilia Racing, questioned on the matter, merely to state that believes so much in the new MXV, who with MY 2009 has made a big step forward from a technical viewpoint and that according to him the entire range off-road should take advantage of developments made in the MXV 4.5.
In short, despite the reluctance of men Noale, it was clear that something was brewing. The confirmation came just this morning, when the circuit "Sagittarius" of Latin America is landed with a team Aprilia MXV Supermotard as to try a. .... Thierry Van den Bosch!
As of this writing, the tests have just started and right now we only know that this is a test is not binding on both parties, a trial to test the quality of the bike, which incidentally is already tested by Max Biaggi.
The preconditions for the wedding of the year there are still all. VDB is the defending World Champion and is the only top rider currently open. Also because it costs a lot and only one house officer as the Aprilia can currently afford.
After these tests we will know perhaps if the French pilot and the Italian house will resume their relationship, stopped suddenly and somewhat 'traumatic two years ago.

Sounds promising, but I'll wait and see. ;)

Kinda hard to follow, Aprilia are trying to get Thierry Van Den Bosch to front a new supermoto team for this years champs.
They are talking 09 model which does not exist ?
So is this a prototype of the 2010 model that's been fitted with VDB parts ?

Basically, they have learned a lot from the 2009 MXV, Van Den Bosh has no ride, it is rumoured that he may go back to Aprilia. The bike is an MXV that has been built by the factory as a supermoto race bike.

There is a news item (http://www.max-biaggi.com/freetime.php?arc_news_id=647#) on Max Biaggi's website of him testing a version of this bike as well as some pics (http://www.max-biaggi.com/galleria_foto_en.php?arc_gallery_id=224&arc_stagione=#) of him on a VDB SXV.

It's the Aprilia Offroad division and that's probably one of the Dakar bikes.

2009 S1 Champion Thierry van den Bosch will be riding for the Italian PMR H20 team in 2010. He will be competing in the World & Italian Championships aboard an Aprilia MXV 450.

Van den Bosch was fastest in the Qualification at the first round of the Italian Championship at Casteletto di Branduzzo. Followed closely by Bernd Hiemer and Lazzarini. Behind them followed the Chareyre brothers.

Shaun that bike isn't owned by anyone here. I think the exhaust is maybe a current Silmoto as they've got the expansion tanks in both header pipes. They increase hp while quietening them down somewhat.

Shawn, that's Max Biaggi's bike - http://www.max-biaggi.com/galleria_foto_en.php?arc_gallery_id=224&arc_stagione=#

That bike isn't running a remote brake adjuster but the VDB one is made by lightech - can't remeber the lightech webste but they have them here - http://www.yoyodyneti.com/category.aspx?categoryID=2834. I have one on my bike that I got from your mate Scott but I don't think they are necessary.

I'd say that exhaust is an Arrow one, undoubtedly it's a prototype.

I've got them on my Silmoto headers.:up:
I think they are supposed to work in a similar manor as the fmf power bomb. Increasing performance by letting the air to expand in the chamber, cool and ramp back at a higher velocity.

Its a bit off topic...but did anyone else bother to read Biaggis little write up on his motarding experience/new addiction?? If that is his own words he is totally in awe, like most of us, with it:up:
