Hi guys,
I haven't had time to do a ride report as such but here are 3 on board video from Sundays racing.
I entered into S1 and Clubman but got gastro on Friday morning just before practice and qualifying.
I dropped S1 on Saturday in the hope I'd have enough energy to race it on Sunday but after qualifying on Friday for both classes (dismally last in S1 ) I only ended up racing Clubman which turned out to be ok but I struggled with the heat and exhaustion after each event all weekend.
Finished 5th overall for Clubman B for Round 1 on Saturday
Finished 3rd overall for Clubman B for Round 2 on Sunday scoring a trophy and a nice cash prize in the mail yesterday
BIG THANX GO TO:
Melbourne Aprilia/GPS Imports
Marty @ Yamaha City
and the Nicolson family for there support throughout the weekend.

Mate thats awesome they got you to sing the National Anthem ;)

It wasnt the national anthem...it went more like "I'd like to thank my darling amelia, and hope that she can make me the happiest man in the world...Amelia will you" (I got distracted at this point by some Bling....and missed the rest of the speech..

Big Ups MM :up:, racing is the very best thing any man can do, gets a little expensive eh? but the podium makes it all worthwhile.

I'd like to know how its possible that Reekie can be 3-4 sec a lap faster than Ross Taylor

Is it cos he's on a proper Motard, or is there another reason

Good effort by Reekie considering he claimed be hasn't ridden supermoto in a year.
I think he may have practiced at a secret KTM test facility :)

Well we know he's a bullshitter then, we have our very own own footage of him overtaking MM at a track day just a few months ago

Marty, that wasnt waving, that was gesturing to his pits to make the frking Honda go faster ;) bit like that stoooopid Neurofen Zafance Ad.. need more power :D

you should work for the Herald Sun or ACA with detective skills like that.

I didn't know Reekie went over to the US to race, did I miss something?

He did claim that he hadn't raced here in Oz but has ridden Marulan with the NSW Supermoto Riders club a few times and lots of MX I think.

ma should have linked to that page markee for the results

But that's what I would expect from MA. Wouldn't you?

Cheers Murray it is exy but that's the price of fun sometimes.

Also Ross has a 490, Linden was on a 470 and Reekie a 505! But Ross was off his game big time and you could see it in the pits for most of the weekend. He did retain his no. 3 plate though so not a bad effort considering Iddon was out there too.

if you need any facts just ask. 1 the 505 ktm was and still is the old fink bike 06 ktm proto bike same as any ktm moto x bike but with swingarm, factory pipes, std ktm cams, very slight head work.its the same bike he used 07,08,09 and is under 60 hp.so i dont think that the bike is 4 or 5 sec faster
the 450 is a crate ktm smr std but for pipes and suspension and runs on the dyno at 54 hp + swingarm
as for racing 2 races on an old 06 ktm 560 in the ama
2 practice days at marulan lot of training mountain bike and moto x
ps were not having a go at ross he is a top guy and he was not at his best in perth

old practice bike is sold to a nice guy called steve only has 7 hrs on it.
could be 1 or 2 factory swingarms for sale prob 1.800 dollars each
the smr will have new std smr suspension and put back to std all new bits
they do have a shorter swingarm than the motox bike + a shorter frame
16.5 or 17 front wheel

Just to clear something up boys and girls, Angus' bike wasnt 3-4sec faster than mine. ALL CREDIT GOES TO THE RIDER. It was Angus that was faster than me and Linden simple as that. Yes those bikes he rides are very well sorted but at the end of the day anyone who saw me ride this year before the titles will know that i was WAY off my game in WA. After being layed up in bed sick for 3 weeks leading up to the event i was basically sapped of energy and stamina. This meant the whole weekend was ridden in damage control mode. I wasnt even strong enough to do one fast qualifyer lap. I am pleased with 3rd but am pissed beyond words about my performance.

In the end even if i was at the top of my game Angus would still probably have won, Linden probably still would have come 2nd but im sure the battle for 2nd would have been a whole lot closer. Linden loves a good fight and it would have been fun to bang bars with him but i let him down big time.

This was the most positive thing to take from the weekend

I worked it out Ross, just poking sticks for fun, you gotta have a sense of humour when u race otherwise we could turn into F1 tools, and when that happens, we should all be shot!

Probably ?? Probably not.

It might be interresting to know that the guy on the podium is the vice-president of Supermoto WA Joe Grasso,
he brought Gozzini to Oz to promote Australian supermoto overseas and tell evryone in Europe,
what nice chaps we are here in OZ .

Most imortantly, without him (among a few others) there wouldn't have been a
2009 Australian Supermoto Championship, full stop
