Man child huh !
Wish i'd seen that before i saw you today. Then again , you and tom seemed
to have some affection for the wall hey.Uncool on your arm there Tom.
Jovian , well that doesn't matter. :)
Was great to see everyone heaps quicker.Look back six months ago and now,
bloody good shit i say.Devo is just haulin' ass around the place.
I think my new bike will be a good thing. Can't get over how much useable power
it's got and iv'e never ridden anything that revs like that, just keeps pulling.
I nearly stacked it in front of devo and had arms and legs flying everywhere.
He thought thats not good enough and throws a rock at me out of the gate down the
straight and bugger me through my leathers it's drawn blood right on my plate
on the collar bone.I'll get ya back mate :D
Seven of us all up i think. Top Day
I'm still gettin sand outta my teeth bandy, but sorry bout that rock haha.
Another good day at nth bris though. Bummer they're all done for the year.

Hi Mal, top looking bike there!!!
I though you were saying something about fixing the house???
Top day out at Nth Bris, thanks again to Steve for the loan of the Kato, I'm starting to understand how this dirt thing works.
Hope Tom and Jov aren't feeling to bad after getting up close and personal with the wall.
+1 on still getting the sand out of your teeth.
Thanks for the loan of the little 250 for the day Jovian - It's heaps different to my 450. Had a little incident with the wall trying to go around the outside of Daws. Tore up my body armour, jersey and arm a bit but all three can be fixed.
It was good following Bandy into the bottom corner because my line selection is still horrible. More practice and it will come.

Who's coming out to play this Sunday?
I'll be there on the little RM... ring-a-ding-ding! Looking forward to seeing how it goes against the bigger bikes.
Steve, Mal, Tom, Jov, Joe, Adam? Lee, bring out the Ape... it's not that scary on 17"s ;)
Yup, I'm in for sure. Wanted to get my tyre turned around, but not looking good for time.
Swapsies on the RM Paul? :D
marcel promised to have the kwacka ready by the end of the week, so we'll see - it does have an 18 on the rear :)

Thanks for the always good company today guys , had a ball.
I need to ride your bike paul and get the feel back from years ago.
A few good duels between the boys and that smile on the dial when we come
in off the track is just the best.
I was just a small flag hanging off the handle bars on my new bike.
Holy shit these new scooters go hard.
Top day , but geez i'm sunburnt.
Was a lot of fun out there on the little RM125, by the end of the day I was getting the hang of riding a 2-stroke and had a great time trying [and mostly failing] to get ahead of Jovian. Looking forward to next practice. Mal dominated the old blokes class, Steve and Darren looked like they were having a lot of fun in the open class mixing it up with the CR500s.
Mal - Next time feel free to take the RM out, It'll be good to see the bike ridden by someone who knows what they are doing ;)

Dan.
bandy
06-03-2010, 04:14 PM
Yeah Dan, It's dirtrack. most times just the oval or sometimes with the one right hander
or another kink off the front straight.
If you still have your dirt wheels you can chuck a trials uni on the back and enjoy
the fun.
Tard wheels are'nt the best . Ask some of the boys.
Next practice is 21st march.
I have posted a link to the club somewhere in this thread.

Do many guys ride standard bush set up suspension? Looking back through the thread at your RM, have you revalved or just adjusted stock suspension for that set up?
bandy
06-03-2010, 06:04 PM
Just wind up the rear clickers on the shock and the trials uni and add fun.
My WR is easier to ride than the RM-Z . At the moment,
I Need to sort it out a bit more.

Do you have to be a club member to do the practice days or can you just rock up? How much is the practice day and what time does it kick off?
bandy
08-03-2010, 07:36 PM
Dirtrack practice is from 9am till 1pm and its $20 plus $20 for a day licence for
those that don't have one.
It is a good idea to wind up the clickers in the rear.
I think i started this dirtrack thing down there last year and everyone has a blast.
Good for your Tarding skills too.

2 classes Mal? Hope your wrists can stand up to the punishment.
Glad to hear my bike sounds good... hopefully it still does when I put it back together! Looking forward to getting back out for a play now I'm starting to understand how to ride it.
What you on about Mal?
I think the classes as per last round included
4t 450/ 2t 250
2t open
4t open
Out of that lot, I could only ride the 4t open.
bandy
16-04-2010, 07:36 PM
From what i can gather from club day 1 results re their classes and our bikes
you could ride in mx open and pro open .
I'm riding in old farts and should be able to ride all three(which won't happen)
Stuffed if i know how it works down there.
Wonder what the diff is between those two classes.
I thought it was up to 450 and then all powers.
Hang on . Think i'm starting to get.
Hmm, looking at the results I can see what you mean. I reckon on the entry sheet it said something about 250/450's though.
Might just do it, not exactly fighting for championship points haha.

Ok guys who is heading out this Sunday for practice?
I plan to but haven't bought a tyre yet. Where would suggest the best priced speedway tyres can be found (19in). I rang Tyres for Bikes a couple of weeks ago and they had some for $140....is that pretty standard price??
I'll be heading out if I can Matt.
Not sure on the tyre. That doesnt sound too bad.
I'll be out there if my suspension linkage bearings arrive on Friday.

Hey Paul how doe the 125 go?
I am keen to have a go at Dirt track until I can get my fitness up for MX again.
The 125 is a lot of fun, it is a lot different to riding a 4t because of the power delivery. I'm starting to figure it out a bit better now but I still need to run a wider line to keep it spinning through the corners. I'd say it's as competitive as a 250 in the right hands (not mine obviously)
I only had the one crack, but I certainly wasn't about to be able to ride it quickly any time soon.

Dirt track practice at Northgate this Sunday.......there is a link to the clubs website on page 2 or 3 or this thread.
i'll perhaps be there on the new ktm, depends how i go running it in if i manage to get out to kenilworth on friday.
matt, that sounds about the right price they are fairly exy, i'll be running one on the ktm if i come out as ive got one lying around.
Sounds like the perfect run-in Adam :) Short shift a little, a few heat cycles. Dump the oil.
If you go out to Kenilworth you'll be idling it around :P
you are probably right, but i dont think i'll be able to leave it in the garage for 2 days!
fly back tonight supposed to be picking it up at 10 tomorrow :)

Awesome! I'm used to the power band on it I have to adjust on the 4t! Not sure if your's has had much or any work but if it's stock and it'll keep up then I might not have anything to worry about then! (Except for the rider!)

Yeah rock up about 7:30 - 8 and its $20 if you got your licence for a practice day.
Runs from 9am till 1pm then the speedway boys have the place for a couple of hours
after us lot.
From what i can gather , Devo , Matt , and myself will be there and mabye daws if he gets his bike back together.Anyone else coming ?' Adam ?
Trev, You probably already know this but.... you'll need a speedway tyre if you have a 19" rear, a trials tyre if you have an 18" or large balls if you have a 17" :P There should be a few faces you recognise from Morgan Park out this weekend.
It looks like I'll be there at this stage, the bearings are supposed to arrive tomorrow so I have a bit of time to get the bike back together. If it don't get it back together, I'll bring the motard out for a play on wets :)

Well I guess I will have to come out and keep you company at the back!
I think not getting lapped will be a good effort for my first race.........
What is the general thought - leathers or mx gear?
90% wear mx gear.
I always wear leathers though. Makes more sense to me.
I don't think I'll be riding. The KTM has probably damaged the oil seal between the engine and gearbox at BEARS (They use the same oil fortunately). Should be pretty easy fixed but won't have time to check, get parts and test before Sunday. Will probably come out for a look.
can someronhe take my flat track wheels down to see if sopmeone will buy them
hmm i cant decide whether to do flat track or go to kenilworth with factory
That thing handles so good on the dirt track, it'd be a waste to go to Kenilworth. :P You both should come out.

Next question - the best place to get a trial's tyre or speedway tyre. My dealer I guess, unless anyone has some recommendations.....?
Paul has got some Cheng Shins to try. Only $70 I think. Apart from that, I got my last Michelin from Ash's Spoked Wheels.
or i have a brand new speedway tyre for sale, for a 19" motocross rim $100

Was a great day, I really enjoyed myself and with a bit more track time should be about to get onto the back of the pack and do some racing!
Looking forward to the next interclub in July!!!
Was a great day on the little 125, I was completely out-classed in the pro-lites race and managed to keep the CR500's in sight in the 2t Open class. My starts got better (they couldn't get worse), lifted the forks which cured some front-end vaugueness through the back section but I really should have turned my tyre as it didn't have a lot of grip on the left.
Managed to stay on the bike for the every race which is a welcome change for me recently, I wasn't looking forward to adding to my already extensive collection of bruises from last weekend.
Steve and Mal were flying and Matt was starting to look pretty comfortable towards the end of the day. Once again another cheap day out for all the family.

I've got to edit the helmet cam video so that its small enough for photobucket to upload, but will try and post it soon. Funny, it never looks as fast and furious as it feels! Some not bad footage though, including a lap or so of copping roost from Steve (devo) on Mal's yellow farm bike

Have a look at this german custom dirt tracker. Some of the other bikes on there are nice too.
http://www.motorcorner.de/html/hellfire.html
Related article on bikepoint:
Custom motorcycles are rarely dull; the tuning and modifications can sometimes improve a bike's performance and aesthetics, and sometimes it can ruin them.
Thankfully this next model probably falls into the former category, and is one of the more interesting takes on the popular Triumph Street Triple.
In actual fact this dirt tracker is based on the on Street Triple R, and was crafted by a German mob called Motorcorner.
Named the Hellfire, the modifications made the bike are significant, but two of the most noticeable changes are the spoked wheels. The 17-inch rims look sensational and really give the bike a dirt tracker image.
According to reports, the aluminium rims feature a special fastening system for the spokes, using knuckles to lock the spokes to the rim as opposed to the more common lacing method. This allows them to take tubeless tyres and also shows an impressive level of attention to detail.
New bars and some extra body cladding under the seat plus a shorter exhaust system change the bike's profile somewhat, but It's interesting to note that the chassis and engine are virtually stock standard.
What would you pay for this creative custom? It'll set you back around $22,000, give or take. And you'll probably need to be in Europe.

No doubt there will be a few from the club we ride at heading down.
I know a couple went down to somersby last fortnight.
Us lot just do it for fun and my racing days are over the rate i'm going,
i can't even do a mornings practice lately, need some new body parts.
We just do the odd club day and they don't have a vets class at open meetings for me. lol
You going up for a look tobey?
That Trumpy would sound good .Love the sound of a triple at full noise.

Wowsers , what a top day had.
Just Dan and I riding from us lot today and Dan was holding his own
with the multiple aussie and state title holder riders out there in the
450 pro class. Makes you look twice when you see a brake light coming
on into turn one with the rest of the young lunatics out there that he was
riding with.
My starts were shit till after lunch and then i started to get it right , but with
old mate A grade speedway rider and the pleasure to ride with Troy Herfoss's
dad Mark , i ended up with third for the day. Man he can ride.
Bloody top bloke too , so after a couple cold ones and a good yarn
i'm happy as. I'll say it again , Bloody good day.
Two Day meet next month also (for those that ride there)

I don't know about mixing it up Steve, but it was fun in the very least. You've got to wonder about the need for a clubman class though. But I guess riding with those quick guys though is a great way to learn the sport.
Shit did the KTM cop a sandblasting too! Now I realise why I saw old mate with his plastics etc all taped up.
Off to the parent's farm tomorrow for a few days work, and riding some single track that my brothers and I have cut in. Then this weekend, to the Linville 2 day trail ride (near Blackbutt - 2 hours).
Anyone else going to Linville? Should be a great weekend, probably not too late to get your entry in.

to team up with ?
I wonder if Jovian would lend me Geraldine for the evening :D if she was to
think about having a go. Use my bike if needed.
I'll find out more tomorrow at the club day.
Oh yeah , if you can team up with a male rider(for the over 40's challenge) , i'll be teaming up with a mate from nanango
who rides with us in the over 40's.
Who's that little chicky that I was fighting places for last year. Someone'll snatch her up! haha.

Cool Jov, I will let you know if I am going to do it.
The only thing is way I read the regs you need to each have a bike for the regular challenge. Not real keen on racing in the top class with the fast as f$ck guys.....not to mention the $150 entry fee!
bandy
29-08-2010, 06:25 PM
Nah , Matt $100 per team for the non dirtrack class which all you blokes can enter
in . You guys don't race dirtrack and supermotard round these parts is road racing
up till last w/end. Come on , What do you reckon fellas. At least you guys can team up
with a mate and not like me where i have to find a female rider. I don't think there will
be an over 40's challenge the rate is looking.

Forgot to add , if you have'nt got dirtrack on your licence your eligeble for non dirtrack
class. I'm still bashing my head against the wall trying to figire out if i can even ride
at all with no female team mate. I'm one of quite a few trying to figure this mess out.
I just want to have a ride.
Matt57
29-08-2010, 08:20 PM
Yeah Mal the rules are a bit of a code ??!!

Also do you know what track they will be using? Not real keen on the long track......

in the cup. Suits me fine so i can sit back with a beer and watch you lunatics in the
non dirtrack challenge. Matt , I reckon you can do the non dirtrack challenge on your
own bike (two bikes -- Two riders). Don't know what track but i reckon it would be
back dog leg at a guess(dirtrack) I mentioned to lisa i'm trying to get a few tard nuts out there too,
So , who's going to have a go ?I can think of quite a few :D
Come on lads , team up
Oh yeah , If someone needs a bike for the challenge they can ride mine.
