Hey,
Anyone got a tyre grover and would like to practice their slick cutting technique, without the risk of wrecking a prefectly good slick?
Well I have a used slick, that I would like to run on the road (yes, I know all the problems with lack of cold/med grip), but need a few legality grooves (yes, i know it does not make it legal) to keep the plods at bay.
Anyone out there in Melb wanna help me out :?:

Sibbo, Chris at B Components has a tyre groover and is listed elsewhere in the archive for contact details.
Plods at bay, yeah right. I've seen you ride :D

Thanks Danno. Im a lot more sedate on the roads in traffic.
Ash: Thanks, but I have another offer, you migh tbe able to glue the wet back together when I run that after the slick goes "bald".

No go from Chris. No groover at the mo.
Anyone else got one and wants to cut some expermental groves. I will report back re how soon it too me to fall off and how it felt on the way down.

I have just worked it out.
If I use an old (read tiny) angle grinder disk, I should be able to make nice flowing smooth cuts in the slick.....or cut a hole in it.
Hang on....even better. I set up the triton with only a few mm of blade showing and just turn the tyre over it to make a cool "legal" tred pattern.

I'd strongly recommend the carton :)

Do you want me to kill the tyre first go, or on the last go. Cos piss and me doing anything dont mix! yes, like picking up trailor trash!

I stand corrected. No I did not get to improve that little girls life. Unfortunate for her.

But that would defeat the purpose of having a 6r that I dont spend any money on.
Not in any ruch for a grover, cos just picked up a really good D208, which will give me at least 10K ks.
Just out of interest, how much are the grovers?

Heres a novel way...
Drive some 4" bullet head nails into the fence, wallride the sucker while doing a high chair burnout, the nails should cut nicely into the tyre if spaced evenly, eh?
Should be all within your limits Sibbo..
