Well it is time I ask, LETS organise a Ride for the QLD members, lets all put down our ideas and some dates, and see what we come up with.

I am up for anything jusy want to get out and have a ride when ever I can.

By the way I no it is short notice but I am meeting a mate at Albany Creek Shell at 7 o'clock tomorrow morn, 8th April, anyone interested or can come see you there. (We are going to be going over MT Mee and around that way.) :)

Where is Albany Creek Shell? No matter I just looked it up and decided to edit post. It appears to be north Bissy, a little too far from the G.C.

Have a good ride. :D

I heard that Mt Nebo / Mt Glorious was plagued with coppers? Is this true? Has anyone heard about the double demerit points thing lately? I am almost scared to ride, I cannot help the slight excessive speeds or the slight wheelies

You are right, it is plagued with coppers sometimes. Over easter I would stay away and just play computer games instead. I did see a copper yesterday. He drove past me, flashed me and I took of up a dirt path and killed the engine. He didn't turn around instead he set up his laser gun..
Mt Glorious is CRAP and the roads are horrible now they have re-'layed' them. Nebo, on the other hand is GREAT and I love it. Makes me want to tow the bike to the gap and ride it all day.

I thought Mt Glorious and Nebo were one in the same or one a little further along the same road as the other?? Please elaborate :D

I thought Mt Glorious and Nebo were one in the same or one a little further along the same road as the other?? Please elaborate :D

They are..... Mt glorious is the run from Fernvale up to the cafe' at Glorious (shitty ride) then you head along the same road (Mt Nebo road I thinks its called) up to Nebo then on to the Gap. That strech is much better with better quality road surface and a lot of tight twistie sections for the tards.
There is also a turn of that heads toward Samford. The start of this road is CRAZY tight and twisty with a great road surface. I have only been there in the car and am hanging out to tard it...........

I went up over Mt Mee today no cops, but I went real early, Mt Mee is a good ride dosent take long to go over and back, stop at the look out, then carve up the road bikes again.

I got a speeding fine in the truck the over day on my way back from Townsville, lets just say it is double points, and near to a grand in a Heavy combo!!!!!

Mt Mee ???? I have never heard of such place. Where is it???? (in relation to Brissy) I'm always keen to learn of new place to ride as I dont know too many up here yet !!!!!!!!

Whats Tamborine like on a tard........?????

77
10-04-2006, 06:16 AM
Mt Tamborine is really good, especially the section heading down to Canungra althought the section coming from Brissy (Lindsay Hwy) is also pretty good, in fact that is common route for bikers, up the mountain on one side and down the other and stop for coffee etc at Canungra. O'Reilys is also really good, as are a few others in the immediate area. If there is anyone in particular you want to know about let me know and I will give ya rd names etc (once i look em up) - Ridden them but never notice the street signs. Once you are up top of Tamborine there are lots of coppers they seem to have blitzes up there everyonce in a while. Heading up or down is another matter though - (tooooooo twisty going down to Canungra me thinks for their little Commodores) - but who knows their Whiley Ways.

hey there qlder's

I was going to post a qld ride note the other week but my bike is f**ked again!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unbeleivable the trouble i'm having, something is wrong with it and the mechanics have no idea what it is. It has now been broken longer that i've owned it!!!!!!!!!!

I have a sm610 on loan now so i'm keen for a ride. i'm keen for a go this weekend, tambourine or the mount mee run threw to maleny sunnie coast is my favorite. the full ride is about 300 kays ex Brisbane heaps of petrol stations on the way.

Mt Mee is just out of Dayboro, it is a tourist drive, you start at Dayboro then come out at D'aqulair, this is inland from caboulture on the way to Woodford.

Cant ride this weekend going 4 wheel driving at Landcruiser park.

How do you find the 610 compared to the 450?

SM93
10-04-2006, 02:21 PM
i actually really like the 610, its isn't very different to ride at all, just as nimble (not quite) you can sit on the highway with it, the tacho and computer works and has heaps of good features.

you can sit on 120 pretty easy, more comfortable. i really like the look of it to. not sure speed wise how it compares but it isn't slower.

i don't want my bike back. Husky oz have no idea what is wrong with it now, it has now been broken longer than it has been going. I'm utterley pissed off and want nothing to do with the 450.

SM93
10-04-2006, 02:53 PM
the only thing that bothers me is that the 610 is a husqvarna and i will be dealing with the same people all over again :(

Wobbly
10-04-2006, 05:36 PM
Easy fixed then - just don't give the 610 back :lol2:

11-04-2006, 06:16 AM
Jovian you should tell them to "bite your shiny metal ass"

On a seroius note I am sorry that you are having such problems with the bike that really and truly sucks. At least you have a loaner though (it could be worse). When you say they do not know what is wrong with it.... WTF was it doing? (funny noises, knocks, no power, missing ????)

Cheers

It's good they gave you a loan bike!!

11-04-2006, 06:48 AM
Yeah... whats been going wrong with it? and what shop u buy from? Are they treating you good or just 'fobbing' you off???

sprint666
11-04-2006, 07:07 AM
I would be asking for a permenent replacement

sprint666
11-04-2006, 07:08 AM
Any ideas on a ride???

SM93
11-04-2006, 08:58 AM
okay broken since december 24, been broken longer than i've owned it.

dealt with sunstate suzuki on the sunnie coast and paul feeney

random stalling, excessive backfiring, cuting out on take off, won't run on anything less than half a tank, etc etc etc

i don't want it back at all, its proved to be a lemon. plus i can't ever ride this bike in condfidenec again. it was just really scared me. i payed to good money to own it but its just been a really f**ked experience. Most money i ever spent.

husky oz has been okay with the courtesy bike, but i just want the bike i payed for, i mean if i wanted to own a cagiva palnet for 3 months thats want i would have brought.

610 is good but i just don't thing i can own a husky after all this shit.

will keep you posted.

as for a ride either friday morn, sunday arvo or monday suits me.

I hear you! I have been holding onto Dickies TRX because I have lost confidence in my Husky. I don't think I'll be getting another doesn't matter how much I like riding it!

SM93
11-04-2006, 10:44 AM
have no interest in husqvarna and i offically don't recommend buying one.

this is a total turn from where i stood 4 months ago.

i could never enjoy riding it again, i will be posting a thread detailing my experiences about all this.

I think they need to address the situation, otherwise it's going to hurt them immensly if they don't. You need a new bike!!
I couldn't even get a loan bike and I made it clear when I purchased this bike that it would be my only transport. The importers said it was up to the dealer to supply a loan bike but it is/was doing Husky bad PR that I didn't have a bike for 2 months not the dealer. The dealers service has been fine for every thing.
I hope you get it sorted soon. They may sell these bikes to start with but will they be able to sell us another one!!! I think that they have forgotten about repeat business - It's cheaper to keep a customer than it is to get a new one!!!

SM93
11-04-2006, 12:34 PM
yep repeat business and word of mouth, i was keen to upgrade after the end of my warranty.but no chance now.

I also have mates who are keen to get one but i won't be recommending them. not to mention people who are interested and read threads like this, no good at all

sent them an email earlier telling them i don't want the bike back, we will see what happens.

cornerspeed
11-04-2006, 03:50 PM
WOW what a story... I'm all for exposing dealers/importers and the way in which they deal us their customers no matter how small the purchase. There is nothing worse than a 'now u bought it, its ur problem' type of attitude.

SM93
11-04-2006, 04:16 PM
yeah telling people might force them to get there act together.

maybe the next guy will get the good of it.

12-04-2006, 06:20 AM
I seem to remember a few months ago wanting to start a rumour about Huskys having some problem...... except I was joking. A mate of mine from work was all set to buy a Husky dirt bike and was completely turned off when he went on an organised ride out near Stanthorpe or Warick and witnessed many many bikes broken down with mechanincal and electrical problems they were mostly (according to him) Husky's. So he decided against it and will now either stick with his CRF450 or buy a KTM. If Huskys are having problems it is going to cost them big since they give a 2 year warranty (that is a long time for a high strung motor vehicle to last even with a fair bit of service, the DRZ only comes with a year). I do hope that they can sort it out and that all this is just a case of bad words travelling further than good words. Jovian all I can say is once they fix it sell it and buy something else, or while it is there trade it in on something else they may have? truly shitae that you are having such problems.... same as you King crash Flash.

I am keen for a ride, but i cant over easter as I am going to Landcruiser park to have a play in my hilux, but the following weekend would be good if we could organise somthing.

Where is everybody located, I am in Albany Creek, North Side Brissy.

77
13-04-2006, 06:19 AM
I would like to go also... but live on the Gold Coast and being new to Qld I do not know Brissy at all and it is hard to fit that Refedex in my pocket  I guess the best thing is for you capital city people to organise a place that is convenient for all you and I should be able to get there. Maybe we should all list a good loop or ride that we like and go from there.

It is not Brissy but I will list mine to start off.

M1 - Mudgeeraba - Springbrook - Nerang / Murwillumbah Rd / Numbinbah valley - Upper Beechmont - Canungra - Tamborine Mt - M1

21-04-2006, 09:48 AM
Anything, I would like to no if there is any interest, as I need to go and get a new back tyre.............................

77
21-04-2006, 10:19 AM
All the way to Nebo for me is a little far especially since I am going to the races the following weekend. I only have a limited amount of passes to spend a day on my own without the family. Don't worry about the tyre, mine is virtually a slick in the centre, who needs grooves there anyway

So sorry but count me out I could get away for 2 - 3 hours but not more, and Nebo is an all dayer.

What time is everyone else getting there? I can't imagine it being to packed out so finding/meeting everyone should be the easy part.
Is it the kart track or that other heap of FCUKING crap they call a 'track' in which we'll be attending ??????

And yes it is at the shit track with the building in the middle to test our optic nerve. (the next one though will be at the Kart track, I hope that will be better, I am looking forward to that) And it will probably be impossible to walk around again, although I think this time I will walk through the pits and wait for someone to kick me out the other end, or better still I will just ride around. Who knows maybe it will be better this time..... I hope.

Everybody watch for Adam Cini (69), the guy is a master on his Husky, he will be the one miles infront of the rest.

Cheers.
