Allrighty, the normal globe'd mudguard/taillight unit I got a while ago is really giving me the shits now. The mounts for the single globe was sideways and it rattled them to pieces in no time ... I drilled out the back and mounted 2 globes in normally but had to use black duct tap for a non-permant way of mounting them but the left globe still blew out in no time :x

So I reckon I'd better go for one of these u-beaut LED taillight assemblies ... thought about the normal dual intensity LED globes in the rear of the existing one, but the angle is weird for getting the right direction for the LEDs and they still stick through like dogs bollocks on the other side :P

You can get a straight off the shelf acerbis or whatever LED tail light, but does anyone know if they're dual intensity or not and whether they have at least a token effort of shining some light on the numberplate, at least enough to make the pork patrol think its too much hassle to pull oneself over?? :-k

After exhaustive searches for just that I settled on the off the shelf Acerbis Enduro (see Gallery) It has that token tailight job you want and is easy to fit. I slid mine under the YZ guard to slim the profile of the rear of the bike a bit and then added not so legal/large indicators which are rubber mounted.
Dont talk to me about friggin LED's as I stuffed around earlier this week on my LED accent lights in the airbox, and under the guards to show the bling! and blew 3 of the poofters in the process, $30 later, I have only 1 left!

Tell me about it ... I tried one of those dual intensity LED bulb replacements which worked fine for a while, then decided to blow the the LEDs in a nice circular pattern in about 1 sec

Ok, I might look at picking one of those up fairly soon then....

ok, got an acerbis led jobbie this arvy and bolted it up in place of the old one. Doesn't look like it'll do much for lighting the rear numberplate, but let's see how we go with the fuzz in that respect then ;)

what did it cost you Neil?
I was thinking of getting one as well. Yours looks pretty light. I wouldn't mind getting rid of the original pile of crap and the under gaurd plastic thingy.

Wasn't that cheap, was around 80 bucks I think. Can't remember 100% though, I've just started closing my eyes and pouring cash into the bike instead

Looks cool but 8)

Doesn't sound to bad and it does look good. I have to get a rear Motox guard too so that I can fit it, Mine has a heap of extra ribbing in it to take the weight of the existing tail light.
