Howzit,

Thought i'd start a new thread for this ride so as not to hijack (anymore) the other thread....

So,
Proposing a ride on sunday 13th Of September.

Start time >> TBA (Maybe 0930hrs ????or later as its sunday???)

Start from >> Thinking either BP @ Hornsby (to go via Galston Gorge)
or
Mobil @ Berowra (via Berowra waters ferry)

Route > Either
1) Start via hornsby > Galston Gorge> Wisemans Ferry (lunch/beverage)
>back via Berowra waters ferry to homes...
OR
2) The reverse (start Berowra> Ferry>Wisemans>Galston>Home).

So just need some input from those attending as the better route (root) and we'll
go from there...

I havnt done neither route not been up that way so supprise me :) and for starting time around 9-9:30 would be good we have to get out there thats all any earlier means i dont get to sleep in. well thats my input :). Good work by the way ROB.

I would suggest Berowra Waters to Wisemans, with a super secret Gonzo side track on the way.
Then Maybe a lap upto St Albans and back (with some dirt thrown in) and then River Rd & Galston Gorge on the way home :up:

there are ways to search what ever ya want at work HDND you just have to know how to get around these silly little blocks :) easy way try going to proxy sites and search from there. what these sites do is you go to the web site and it has a address bar usually in the center or top of the site type the address u wish to visit and the web site u requested is displayed in the proxy site and your work just thinks your still at the proxy site not looking at another. you may have to try afew proxy sites due to them getting blocked but there are still a fair few out there that are not blocked.

gee, maybe me and the smc might come along as well ( plus a mate on his 640).
I ride all those roads a lot-
the road to wisemans ferry ( say from peats ridge road ie the north side) is SHIT.
Unbelievably poor surface and quite ( IMHO) dangerous- esp as you get closer to to the ferry.
As to the Old Pac Hwy , as many of you will know, its been largely resurfaced- so the first bit ( to Brooklyn Bridge) is brilliant.I did it 4 times yesterday ( and almost ran off the road- none too clever).
I'm usually there anout 0700-0715- hardly any bikes , but still a fair number of pushy riders.By the time you get to after 8- lot more bikes and the cops start to show their presence.I understand this is a bit early for many people.
I treckon the best bits of road in that area are the old pac hwy, the galston side of the gorge and the run from dural to berowra waters ferry.Also good is the run from Putty road to sackville ferry then upto the northern road, turn right ( toward dural) and then off to either berowra waters ferry or galston.
Basically you cant go wrong with any of them.Just the later you leave the more traffic you get.

I am happy to lead, as long as everyone understands that I am in no way qualified or endorsed to provide any instruction or even a level of guaranteed safety.
I crash a lot, so take that into consideration :p

As for the route, we'll have a quick chat before we leave. There can be dirt options, or it can be avoided. We're on motards so I recommend the dirt options ;)

The following squiggly line is the route I propose.
Longest gap between fuel is about 70km, but can be made less if needed.

There are also 2 dirt side trips that can be taken for those that like to do powerslides.

So just because the universe likes to fuck with me, the XR broke a clutch cable last week, but it was ok as I saw it was fraying and ordered another one from Honda.

I used to do the Sydney Knights rides each Tuesday night I think it was and to have 80 or so bikes crusin through Burwood on the way to where ever we were heading was pretty cool. As the ride progressed the group split up a bit depending how fast you wanted to go but that is to be expected
