Queensland Supermoto Championship Round 1 2006

The first round of the Queensland Supermoto Championship will be held on the 1st & 2nd of April at Carnell Raceway, Stanthorpe.

Not a bad venue. Good for spectating. You can wander through the pits as usual and you can camp there which is a good thing as it's a bit of a hike to get there. A good ride from Brizvegas if you go all the back roads.

Make a weekend of it.

Seeya.

Scozzie I was wondering? The race track at Stanthorpe is not in Stanthorpe itself? How far out of town is it? How much to camp at the race track? Can you camp if only watching? I have not been before but wanted to go all of last year. Now I am thinking I might drive the car and camp the weekend there. Are there any kinds of amenities at the site? Sorry for all the Questions... I just do not know where to ask all this stuff and it is a 2 - 3 hour drive from Gold coast.... I think. If you could answer questions it would be great if there is somewhere I can call or website......also good.

Cheers.

No worries with the questions. You'll never know unless you ask.

From memory, the racetrack is about 8 km out of Stanthorpe. You go all the way along the main St and up a hill ..... bla bla bla (Ask in the high st and they'll tell you- lots of folk support it)

Camping - from memory it's about $10/bum/night I think, I was camped in the pits so I can't tell you if that's gospel, sorry.

Entry - About the $15 mark last time I went.

Toilets are there, by Sunday I wouldn't go near them though.

Food is there during the day, you know the sort of BBQ usual stuff - no good for a veggie mind you. I asked for just an egg in a roll and I might have well asked for a free service for my bike -"Oh no I don't know if we can do that..." but that's another story.

Hope that all helps. Look out for the straw bale house on the rhs on the way down if you go the hwy and the cops too. They have a new policy of having radar every 100m. :D

Cheers,
Scoz

Thankyou very much Scozzie, i definitely want to go, its just a matter now of going for the day of camp the night. I want to try and rouse a couple of non motard riding buddies to go but so far all I have heard is.....I don't know...... 2 days of Motards........may be a little too much.

Cheers

If one is to go for only one day, which would be the best day? Does it usually finish early or midday on sunday?

Sunday will still be good but I'd go the for the main day's racing as a lot of folk will leave as early as they can on the Sunday.

I went on Sunday as the timetable showed that there was more going on on that day. I was surprised to see very few spectators..... less than 10 I reckon. Free to get in though which was great.

Adam Cini #69 is an awesome racer.
