I raced in Round 4 of the SA Offroad Championships today.

As usual, I finished near the back - but a little further up than the first few rounds. I'm getting faster, but 90% of the other guys are still a s&*tload faster than me.

Thanks to RPM Park for coming along to help out and for taking some awesome pics.

good work, looks really nice.

i'd love to give racing like that a shot one day.

what tyres are you using on ya bike?

Today I used Dunlop 756's front and rear. I really like them for motocross and short enduros.

I jacked up the pressures to 15 psi for the rocky conditions.

Looks dirty :D

they would have been pretty worn after the ride though?

i always have to run my pressures up fairly high as where i ride (vic high country) is just full of those rocks. and i seem to bend rims haha.

Not really. I've used this set for all 4 rounds so far. The front still looks like new and the rear is just starting to lose the sharp edges off the knobs. If i turn the rear around on the rim, they'll last the whole season before being relegated to trail riding tyres.
Having the motard wheels on my 530 means that I have 2 sets of dirt rims - one for racing and one for practice. It's saving me heaps in tyres.

thats fairly surprising, but there is more rocks over here i spose. its always nice to have tyres that last well, and grip nicely. i can never seem to get a tyre to last :(

im trying a mitas stone king on the back of my bike at the moment, on the big rocks its amazing, just so much grip. but if you start to push really hard it feels very vague and the sidewalls just flex like mad.

the knobs just seem to lose their edge but they dont break off like some others, just wear down.

what other tyres you had a good run with?

how many k's are the enduros?

I WONT take credit for the pics as i was using KTM 39's camera.
It can make a complete numpty like me look like a good photographer.
I took heaps of pics just so he MAY have a couple of good ones!
Kept forgetting to take them as it was sooo good watching the racing.
I am going to have to race at least once or ktm 39 will be calling me a few nasty names.
My poor DRZ is going to get so confused going from dirt to road!
Not to mention beaten!
