hi guys, I have been reading this site for a few weeks new and I love it. I have just bought a 570 husky SMR and so far I love it to bits.
Its a whole lot different from my sports bikes :) I live in QLD so if there are any other QLD'ers, give me a yell yeah ?????
hmmmmmm.... how do I post a pic in this forum ????[/img]

g'day,
getting to be a few qld'rs here, you're not alone.
to post an image the picture file has to be already on the 'net somewhere.
you then use the and tags to wrap around the web address of the pic, like this http://www.your.web.site/your.pic.jpg
No quote marks or any other fancy stuff.
Make sure that the little tick box 'Disable BBCode' is NOT ticked.
dicky.

a queensland ride day with our tards would be nutz. How about a Mt Glorious ride???? We can all meet at the base of it or at the cafe???? either way it would be grand..
BTW I'm at the RAAF base.
I am super keen but my bike is broken right now. When I have it together i will be letting all the qld'ers know. The more tards the better.

I hear you mate I got the same thing!!
Sprint 666 i would not take off the engine covers. I actually just bought them and put them on. I fell off a few months ago (yes one of the many times) and the shift lever left a good dent type crease in the engine cover (no leaks thank god), you have to replace the whole side if it does break. The TT / CFC case savers are I think fantastic, they do not add any weight - Also I have read that if they are on it is very difficult to remove and you may scratch up or damage the orginal covers trying to remove. That is my two cents anyway.
Cheers
Still love the husky, think about it everyday. I actually sent an email to Husky oz saying how disappointed I was about the whole thing. they rang and said The parts that they are delivery today are from a new bike they had in the shop. They decided to strip it down to get the parts for my bike to the shop ASAP.
About time, no one seemed to want to take ownership of the issue though. does make me wonder about getting a new one, i was keen to trade to a 510 after my warranty ran out.
I will be ringing the shop about lunch time today so i will keep you posted.
the good thing about it all though is that i don't have to pay for anything.
why are you guys changing engine covers?

It sound like a carbon copy of what happened to me!! I was seriously looking at a 510 also!
In the few weeks since I have had my bike back It has been back for a clutch master cylinder and it now needs a slave cylinder. As some of you may have guessed I'm over it!
My YZ125 is going to be a YZ250f no a TC250 like I previously was thinking. I can't be fucked with all this stuffing around, wouldn't bother me so much if it wasn't my transport
I am also getting the clutch on my bike re - sealed as well. I think i'm going to be alot more enthuastic about maintanence when i get mine back. I'm used to honda's.
every rose has it's thorn.
looking forward to seeing the aprilia's.
maybe the husky 610's are more reliable

The CFC case covers are good things, I've got a set on mine. They just glue in place and I just used some of bunning's finest gutter grade silicon sealant on mine so hopefully the should come off ok if need be ;) I've banged my bike around a bit, dropped it a few times and generally treated it like crap for the last couple of years and they have been ace

Btw, for those wondering why, most 4 stroke trail bikes with mag engine cases are reasonably fragile to penetration, and the drz is particularly prone on the left hand side because of the shift lever.
Btw, anyone with a DRZ who hasn't taken off the shift lever and radius'd the back side of it (I used an engineering quality $30 bench grinder) should probably think about doing that pretty quickly :)
I have just been told my bike should be ready Tuesday, so it could be possible i might make a sunday ride next weekend.
I will be very rusty but
