As I will be in Ringwood at the Ringwood Motel on Maroondah Hwy, lets meet there (Adjacent to Burnt Bridge Shopping Centre, going out to Croydon/Lilydale) at 10 am and have a couple of hours hoonin'
Its off to Neils for the barbie round 1.30-2.00pm and that should be enough time to root up a tyre or 2!

No skirt, but leathers might be a good idea if you have 'em!...
Got an idea or 2 for the route to take have you Ash?
By 10 am no doubt the 'Hills' will be alive with the dickhead brigade all punting their 'Oh, so fast' Kia wagons :chainsaw:

Ok, I'm officially scared now ;)

I might be able to get a couple of non-motard sorts along in the morning as well ... not sure how keen they'd be on dirt, although I'd bet my left nut that antti is quicker on the dirt on his trx than I could hope to be on the drz!

Dirt is for gardens when I've spent a shitload of cash on my mootard! Dirt is for WRF plastics only and getting behind Antti if he comes along on tar will teach a few of you some good roadcraft. He is big, a powerful rider who shows no real limit when others have already surpassed theirs long before! I have ridden only one day with Antti and to my blessing it was the Tawonga Gap and return from Bright, and then the Hotham Heights and return in the afternoon. I really enjoyed riding with him, even though the mootard was under stress to keep with his booming TRX.
I say Tar on Sunday.

Looks like there's a few guys from mcnews interesting in coming along! I'd suggest starting off at our normal meeting point which is at the maccas on the corner of springvale rd and whitehorse rd ....

What time do you want to head off? We normally meet around 9.00 which turns into a 9.30 departure .... maybe say 8.30 and aim for a 9.00 departure from there? Our normal route is up through christmas hills/yarra glen and then on to healsville via the melba and either chum or myers creek roads, then the black spur, marysville, the reefton and back around home.

If we're on time that will give us a decent 5-6 hours of riding, although I might bug out a bit early and head back to set up etc. Whadyathink?

If I ride like a bitch I get about 140ish, if I ride like I need to back out a steamer I get about 80ish.
:?
I might go up through Kinglake then to healsville and either dom dom or the blackspur then acheron way and then back. I can make this ride there just enough servo s :D tops on the way.

I take back the gay insult, your excused. Why cant this be done on a Husky? Surely the fuel will hold out like the other bikes, or should Carmen be getting you a 13 ltr tank like Krumms for your birthday? :D

Well, the post-Calder ride has run ... great day for riding, beautiful weather and a nice full sun to blister my already scorched face from the day before

Muzz and myself met up with a couple of guys from mcnews (Antti and Pete) and we headed out through warrandyte, through christmas hills, into yarra glen, then turned around and go up the melba until the healsville turn-off, through the chum creek road (which was in great nick) and then into the shell servo at Healsville. We met Cal there (also from mcnews), refuelled and headed through the black spur (which was a parking lot), off to marysville and then up and over the reefton spur and down into warby before another refuel and then the ride home.

Roads were good, company was excellent and we even got a great run with traffic through the reefton

Unfortunately there were a few bike riders killed over the weekend by all reports, including one hit and run by a 4wd. However, getting out a bit early and having everything done and dusted by midday meant there were none of victoria's finest out and we avoided the dickhead factor down the spurs as well. Good stuff! 8)

Yes, A very enjoyable mornings blast through the hills. A nice pace throughout the ride and the Reefton was good only encountering a car and trailer once that pulled over for us so didn't spoil the rythym. Loaded up and went around to Neils for a barbie with some of the others from several other forums, Thanks Neil, and then home to Wangaratta. :)
