All,

due to lack of interest after an intense effort in trying to sell nig's smr450 I am going to try and sell off what I have to raise the extra cash I need to buy it myself. It is a @#$# excellent bike, and it has come up mint. But it is a botique bike in a limited market and it has a history. As a consequence, no one seems to be interested.

So, first up:

Road Rims to suit KTM 400, 520 (and I guess 450). Suit year models 00-02 (I am not sure when the 450 came out). These have been machined and modified to go straight onto the bike with no fuss. The rear rim has a cush drive and the front rim has a 320mm disc and the necassary calliper extention. The rims were machined up by the fellas at Kings Park Auto Elec so you know its the buiz. I would like to realise $800, and this price includes the rear sprocket and a road bike front brake lever and resevoir.
Please PM me as I dont want to put my mobile number on an open web page.

So it then goes without saying that the KTM 400exc is up for sale. This bike belonged only to Rob the Dentist (who is a club member and has gone back to enduro [he did a season of enduro on the bike] and then Scotty from Kings Park AE brought it. He road it less than 10 times mainly as a supermoto bike, before he stepped up to the Berg. Scotty can give all the juice on the specs and condition of the bike. As he has continued to help me look after it while I have had it. I have riddent in only on the Avard Training day, and the November and December ride days and that is it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No shit. It has had very little use. I need to Realise more than $6200 for the bike but have a little room to move. It is currently fully street legal and has 12 months rego, so you can even commute on it.

PLEASE note the KTM rocks as an enduro and as supermoto and if not for wanting to relieve Nigs wife and kids of the burden of having an unsold bike, I would not be selling the KTM. That is a fact!!

Again PM me.

Mitch

What were the rims originally off? I'm pretty sure that year KTM suits DRZ. Neil, help me out here! DRZ diameters are 20mm front and rear.

I though they would go on another model as well.

Mitch will likely have the measurements to hand, but yeah I do belive that the early 00 KTM wheels will bolt right up with just a change of spacer (which can be easily made up by almost anyone with a lathe).

Thanks for posting the link Neil. Tis a bit sad such a good bike has not sold but the market is pretty small over here despite how much the sport is growing.
Anyway, the Husky is at $8250 but needs to be freighted

As far as the rims go, they are gsxr rims that were originally machined to fit a kx500 (I originally brought them to try to fit them to the old KLX before deciding just to lace my origgy hubs)

Anyway then were then modid to fit a cr500, which worked fine, and then finally the KTM.

I am pretty sure the axle size is 20mm. I know they wont fit the newer post 03 models that I think went to a wider axle.

They have the cush drive and all so they are pretty cool. Over in the west we have a guy that powdercoated a set of road mags orange and it looks mint.

Hi guys.

Well finally it looks like it is going to happen. The husky has a new home pending contact from Jake.

You guys rock and karen will be so stoked. I am most happy that it is going to someone who is obviously pretty big and well known in motarding over there where it all started for Nig and his love of motarding

Thanks guys, and to Jake....hope to hear from you soon.

It's excellent that we can keep the bike 'in the family' as it were :)
