It was only costing me $66 to get mine done by the spewzuki dealer, I figured my time was worth more than that (plus I'm lazy)

Itds a DRZ. They dont need it. Seen mustering bikes with 15000 paddock kms and its still a waste of time. If it starts easy, doesnt rattle or make a fluffy Half choke sound when running she b right:up: Maybe:roll:

DRZ are pretty user friendly in regards to the valve clearances.
I suggest get them checked and pad adjustment if need be at the local Suzuki dealer like Twatty has said and from there on in be assured you are gonna be sweet for some time.
Depending on how its ridden of course,
You could easily see 20K hassle free and not a second thought as to tolerances.
They are pretty well bullet proof once setup and just regular servicing done properly.
Clean air all the time so make sure you have a spare air cleaner so changing them regularly isnt a chore.

Checking the valve clearance on the drz is piss easy. Changing them requires pulling the cams out, which is a pain, but as muzz says they don't do out of spec much after about the initial few thousand k's...
