My bro and I met at Winchelsea roadhouse, fueled up, had a really bad coffee:-& and then headed off down to Lorne via Deans Marsh. This road is one of my fav's as it's still a 100k speed limit and works it's way up into the Otways then down hill into Lorne. I have always loved the downhill section into lorne. The corners are all a positive camber which is great but you need to watch out for the green moss that grows in the centre of the road at this time of year.
A few whoolies while waiting for my bro to catch up and we were in Lorne. This time we did not do the latte thing and continued down the coast road, destination -Apollo Bay. We past two mates in lorne who are crazy fast down there so we asumed they'd catch up on the road at some stage but they pulled up in Appollo Bay as our Mugachino's turned up. I thought, geez, we must be getting faster. But they just got there and ordered a coffee when we rode by . So they had their coffee and still caught us, fookers!:lol2:
We observed the talent in Appollo Bay for a while and then headed back to Lorne as a group. Well that lasted till the first corner when the red mist took over and us backmarkers played catchup. It was after 12 at this stage and the inside corners where still damp in the shade so it was a more sedate ride back than normal.
I took the oportunity to slow down and practise my crappy first gear whoolies on the duke while waiting for my bro and I actually did a good one, carrying the front up for the whole rev range:roost: I mean't it, honest! ha ha!
When the front came down I checked my mirror and my bro was there giving me the thumbs up. He witnessed it all so it did happen.:supz:
We made it back to Lorne, had another Mugawhatever and doubled back thru the Otways to Deans Marsh (still damp). Coming out of Deans Marsh, there was a farmer in his Hilux on a rise. He had just come out of his paddolk and was sitting in his 4be talking on his mobile. You know the feeling you get when you just know someone's about to do something stupid on the road? I had that feeling so I was watching him like a hawk. By the time I got to within 10 meters of him he was looking my way but pulled out anyway (remember he's talking on his phone) Fucker!
I'd slow'd considerably anticipating this, brakes on hard and had to swerve onto wrong side of the road on a rise. He'd stop'd, blocking the left lane, I pulled up to a slow roll infront of him, curseing in my lid as you do, and this fucker is still talking on his phone, looking at me like some dumb fuck! He reversed back a little (still on his phone) I kept rolling past slowly knowing my bro was behind me, he saw all this too so was at a crawling pace, and you know what? The dumb fuck pulled out again on him, still on his phone. My bro got past on the wrong side of the road too and we continued on. I'm not a road rager but man, that dood deserved a whalloping for that!
We got to Winchelsea, had a quick breather and parted ways home.
All in all, it was a good day but the road seems to dish out a liitle reminder like this every now and then . It is definately loosing it's luster the more I do trackdays and race.
Bright this weekend so will report on that with pics.
Later all and be safe on thoes roads.

Good trip mate, there's always some dumb fookers out during a ride though :)
