As the numbers increase with Factory sales,
I see a future with 'sister' sites cojoined by web name to offer rides to those in other states too, somewhat like this forum is now...
There is the opportunity then for the club/web base I have started to become an associated club Nationally under the Act and with M.A affiliation, with each State having representation for the discipline, and also a social web base for information...
Sounds good doesnt it? ;)
Thanks for the reply I was starting to feel lonely  From what i can tell this is the only real Australian motard web page (everything else is just a cheap imitation). I lived for a bunch of years in Geelong and 4 in Melbourne so I feel at home when you guys talk about riding down certain streets in sunny Melb etc (I have not been in Victoria for about 12 - 13 years). Anyway thanks for hosting a great web page. Keep it up. I log on pretty much everyday. And once again are there any other Gold Coast motard riders out there ????
How do you load an Avtar???

When I was there last September during bike week I saw 1 KTM motard 1st time I saw it was down at Knobby's Beach, then at Pacific Fair,
You change your settings in the profile near the top of the screen.
I have gone into that and tried to upload from my computer but it won't do. I will have to steal someone elses.
There are several motards in the area, at least two DRZ's, several KTM's, and two huskys that I have seen. Maybe they all work at the bike shops and ride home on shop bikes after work?? (Lucky bastards)
hello,
I live in brissy and have two mates with lc4's. my bike is being fixed on warranty at the moment but I should have it in a couple of weeks. what do you ride?
My ride is a DRZ400E. And yes I have heard all of the low power comments in the, close to a year that i have owned it. Do you ever ride in the Mt Tamborine, Canungra areas or do you head to the glass house mountains. Or better yet do you ride the traffic in Brissy?
Do you also ride a KTM or is that a Husky in the Avtar??
got an 04 husky smr 450 like in my pic.
ride everywhere, all the usual spots plus a few other we have found. we have a few pretty rides we go on. I ride brissy traffic which is great fun on the tard.
so you built up your drz?
No I bought it from Springwood Suzi with a dual wheel kit (sprockets, chains, brakes etc). I have about 3 to 4000 klm on it. The only things I have added are motard front fender, ripped of giant rear tail light assembly, bash plate, hand guards, renthal bars and the engine case covers I just got from Thumper talk in the US. Do you commute on yours? Any regrets about buying a Husky? Do you also have trouble not pulling wheelies everywhere you go??

Are you thinking QSMR.NET
ur bike sounds sweet.
I have no regrets about buying my husky. I never planned on getting it. I was actually going to preorder a buell city x or a new speed triple. its' great fun and i always told my mates that i thought a motard would be awesome. i saw it, i rode it and feel in love and it was definetly the right price. It was a demo and I got it with 800kms on it for 9750 on the road with the full warranty. I could not have got or made a bike as good as it for that money. plus i can get another bike later on.
I'm pissed that its broken, but i love it to death. they gave me a courtesy bike which eases the pain.
I fine it very hard not to do anything silly everytime i ride it. i've been done once for a wheelie.

What broke on the husky?
77 - here's a few ideas for you... http://www.vsmr.net/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=325 :)
Yea I am also curious to know what broke on the husky? What did the wheelie cost you, or did you get a nice warning with the ol' if I ever see you again speech.
I know what you mean by the fell in love with it part. I absolutely love my bike, my commute to work is in reality quite short 4 k's but for some reason it goes for about 10 k's or more (everytime I am in second something inside says lift the front wheel for as long as you can.... and I succumb and obey my inner desires  ).
Nmilne thanks for the info I have actually read it all a few times, infact that was how I found VSMR. I wish i had the money to do some of the things you have done to yours in particular the Exhaust  . One question for you is can you easily lift the front wheel in 3rd under power only??????

Yeah what happened to your Husky???
The oil pump broke and the bottom end seized. It was christmas eve and i was riding back to my parents on the sunshine coast threw the mountains in my new helmet, full leathers and gloves. I was having a really good ride to, i was fully switched on, then it just stopped. I felt it surge a little so i pulled over, cause i thought maybe i didn't switch it back from reserve i pulled onto the grass and it was dead.
i got $350 and 3 points. The copper was right behind me but i didn't see him. the jerk copper nearly ran me off the road he missed me by about 10cms. he cut me off into the side of the road even though I was indicating to pull over. I was very angry and swore at him and told him if he wasn't a copper i would have knocked him out. I'm not an angry person but when someone does that i just lost it. he reasoning was that so my many bike take off, which fired me up even more. i better stop now, my blood is beginning to boil again.
Oh now you got me started on the girls in Blue. I have developed such a dislike for these people it is not funny. As far as I am concerned all they do is collect traffic tickets (glorified meter maids). My neighbour recently had a brand new crf100 stolen from his garage while he was in the back yard. They phoned the Police..... do you think they even bothered to turn up and ask the neighbours any questions like I dunno, did you see anything :?: No they are too busy parked on the M1 collecting speeding tickets. This bike was a complete loss no house insurance (over 50cc) and it was only a 100 so no auto insurance. It makes my blood boil  . Funny thing is that I had contemplated getting into the force (as they call it) you know help the community. Can someone explain how doing a wheelie is going to endanger anyone other than the rider? the more I think of this stuff the angrier and less sympathetic I get towards the girls in blue.
I almost forgot. Shame about the Husky. You do know that now that you have posted this information you have created what I like to call a common problem   . When someone asks me about Huskys I will be compelled to answer you know they have a common problem of oil pump failure.
Just kidding. Sorry to hear about the bike and the down time. At least it is covered by what appears to be one of the best warranties out there.
warranty is great, i would not be able to afford to fix it myself, has convinced me to only buy brand new, unless buying a honda.
the other common thing about huskies is that they fastl, so make sure you say that as well.
I may forget that part.... But I will try my best. You know what they say if you haven't heard a good rumour by 11.00 am you have to make one up!

Can someone explain how doing a wheelie is going to endanger anyone other than the rider?
sure can ... mate looped his R6 the other week ... slid along the road for 40 metres until it hit the gutter and then launched about 1.5m into the air and hit a tree and bounced out into the middle of the road again ... if it had missed the tree it would have travelled across a pretty busy footpath at maybe 50km/h 1.5m above the ground ... oh yeah and i still love doing monos as often as possible ... but it can and does all go wrong sometimes :D

Also, people can die from laughing too hard!
Ok that was not a wheelie, but what is commonly refered to as an accident! Two very distinct things. :D
