Was a long day but well worth it , hadnt ridden in a while & first few laps were wobbly but got into the groove & had a ball... :D
Wheels do make a huge difference to turning in , couldnt get over the difference they made...
I thought my bike was a bit blingy , but there were some pretty flash looking bikes there & some pretty quick riders too , as usual.

there is plenty goin on up here Muzz. Found out yesterday the track at Proserpine is going full steam ahead.... :D
Looks like they will actually start building it very soon.... only an hour from home so I am excited about that.
Bad news about our QLD rounds though.... turns out some fuckers whinged about Motard tracks having to have a dirt section , so because of that it looks like they have been canned.
I understand that the true definition of Motards include dirt but they are on Go Kart tracks to start off with , not full size Road Racing circuits...
Anyway , doesnt matter , we have more racing up here this year than ever before , so its all good. And with this new track opening up we have the option of 3 tracks to ride on :D
Was that MQ doing the whinging Oz?

I got the impression that it came from riders Steve , I didnt ask who made the comments so I cannot be certain.
If it did come from the riders , that's really dissappointing... because at the end of it all we are only hurting ourselves..
But like I said , I am not sure.
we have a member at our club who is a major force with us Motarders for track time , he even offered to pay for the Ambo for the day at Tuesdays practice session :D
It would be nice to have a heap of people with his drive , passion & motivation in our sport ( and money of course ) , we could go a long way.
Kudos to you Brendan :D

They are in the sport JD and more entering all the time as it grows ;)
No, we have issues with MQ down here before it ever reaches the riders. FWIW, everyone from our mob was stoked with the Townsville round last year.
If it's an MX bike with funny wheels, it's motard racing. The MA rulebook states there must be 20% dirt, but it also states that MA will run a National Championship every year, and as far as I can tell they don't run shit.
That sucks that the whingers have possibly ruined the chance of any racing in FNQ. If it was riders then it would have to be the guys from the MX backgrounds... they already have more racing than they know what to do with!!!
There is nothing in the MA 2009 manual of motorcycle sport that governs the make-up of a supermotard track. After talking to the Sporties staff, they stated that apparently there may be something in the main MA rule book that concerns this but I have no confirmation - It could be that this may have been a rule in a previous edition but has since been dropped?
I'm with Devo on this one, if you race a SUPERMOTARD bike it's SUPERMOTARD racing!!!
I think, as paying members it's worth all of us giving MA a call to see how they are going with the 2009 Australian Supermoto Championship.
C'mon Julian you've got to put a pick of your bike in too.
I'm not a fan of apes, but i like that one of yours

Hi Julian, The bike looks great for an Aprilla. Can't wait for the next meeting, I am hoping to have a YZ 450 going for it. Dave at Burdekin Motorcycles is doing some work on the motor, he is using pipe and other bits off one of their 450"s to experiment how to set up a Motard.
I work in Mackay at the showbar every weekend now, they are helping Sam out with nomination' and clothes for his MX bike. Great place to work but the hours are killing me.
Next time you are on your way through call into the airport and have a look at the area for our new track. the boys are putting up the signs this week. We have cleared the area and should be laser leveled today.
Se you soon.
PS how hot are Brendan's wheels on his RM>

I gotta agree with you about those wheels , they are just pure porn.
Am really excited about the new track :D :D :D that is the best news I have heard for a long time.
Have you decided on a track layout yet ?
Email me when you guys have your next meeting , we will come up.
Good stuff Rob.

hahaha.... your a funny man Adam
Maybe you dont know who some of the locals are at our track
Come on up..... I will take the photos :D
Well it's geat to hear from our southern competition
hopefully I will have my Burdekin Motorcycles prepared
YAMAHA YZ450 ready for next meeting.
Now to be competive I am hoping the bike will hold it's own.
Myself all I need is to loose 32 kg to bring me back to a
reasonable weight, plus pick up around 15 seconds per lap.
Once this happens I should manage to finish in these last 2
or 3.
See you at the next meeting.
