Currently working in NSW alpine area and was thinking of a short ride, and meet up, in Corryong (VIC)..Prefer during week but might be able to swing to a weekend ???

Muzz and i are trying to organise a time (if we can) but thought there might be others that would be interested in a lil ride.

I'll be coming from Jindabyne, through Thredbo, Khancoban then on to Corryong...

just putting it out there....(its cool here atm so not putting it to far out there).....

Corryong-Cabramurra would be a fantastic ride on a tard. Though the Cabramurra- Cooma stretch would be a bit much I reckon, specially the last half.
Wish I was a lot closer so I could join in.
Cheers Brian

If you're up in corryong its worth heading up to meet the river and on to walwa and then take the road through granya that loops back down to the murray valley hwy. The road around granya is awesome, my second favourite in the region behind the tawonga gap :)

I live in Jindabyne. The best section is Thredbo to Tom Groggin and return.
the tank on my sxv is too small to do to much. should hookup for a beer.

I have a mate out at Berridale been there since he was a kid.
Doesn't look too promising for me to get anywhere near Corryong or Jindabyne this week.
I have an unregistered bike on slicks in my shed instead of one with rego and tread.
It just didnt happen last week as I expected along with shitloads of other things so ...
Looks like I'm a non starter

Maybe Thredbo to Tom Groggin / return for a DRZBling and an Aprilia?

Thank guys for the reply...

damn that we can't do a meet up muzz but next time hopefully..

Thanks for the tips too Neil. Not sure on the fuel range of the DRz atm as i've just put a jet kit in it so i would be guessing. I should be able to fill up in Thredbo and make it to Khancoban (its about 75k's).
That section you described does sound nice thou.
I see that its a considereble distance to Corryong from melbourne area too.

Hey Ozz, PM me a mobile number i'll give u a call.
Will the Ape do a 75 k stretch ?? (thredbo to Khancoban).

AS far as I am aware there is no fuel at Thredbo, Jindabine would be the nearest I think.
Cheers brian

You will need to carry fuel from either end on the Ape for sure. Even if it's only 75kms you'll be giving it heaps and prolly only get 50kms outta a tank anyway!

There is definitely fuel in Thredbo. I know the girl that leases the garage.

What a day.

Somewhat cool but clear skies all the same...
4 lined up in Jindabyne for a timely squirt through to Khancoban, and all 4 returned well intact and smiling.
270+k's including my trips up/ down to Jindy...
(APE 5.5, Yam R1, Yam YZF100, DRZ400etard)

casualties of the day:
Me, being passed by all of the above...but still smiling,I did have some fun with my mate on his YZF..
Several riders/pillions on assorted big bikes, with trailers,
Lady at National Parks gate as we zoomed by, lost her hat,
Several emu's near thredbo, wipped the feathers right off em,
Numerous cars including several with trailers,
We straightened out the twisty bits in the road (thredbo>Tom groggin)

All in all it was a awesome day. I'm still smiling and the lil DRz is happy
for a great run.

It was good to meet another site member and enjoy some curves.
Thanks again Anthony....

Rob

p.s..sorry but no pics cause we were having way to much fun

Yes it was a top day. Its always good waiting for 1000cc Yamahas.

Sorry about the camera Rob but I dont have a little one... camera that is.

The only bummer for me was that Rob forgot to bring his avitar girls for some harmless entertainment!

Hope to see you at Eastern Creek on the 30th.
