I saw a post on Thumper talk that said 53 for the Husky, not sure on the Husaberg though.

Either one will be a great bike to own.
Husky is 2year warranty
Berg is 1 yr

I have a Berg dealer Within an hour from me so I would get one of em :D 650 for sure

The 510 motor seems to be a mix of 450 revs and 600-650 grunt.

For me the better deal will always get my money.

or 65ish bhp

I have to sell it to my wife so the 2 year warranty helps.

Andy, got a Berg and don't know much about the SMR510 :?: , so I'm not much help with comparing but keep in mind that hp ain't what it's all about.
For the 650 it has 60+ at the rear wheel stock, but it also has a stack of torque :fart: , so if you want to leave it in a gear to pull out of a corner, you can.
The other thing is how the bike feels to ride, and remember a bike with 1/3 the hp can blow all the rest away in the windy stuff if it is light and predictable... remember it isn't how fast you go, it is how often you use the brakes that determine how quick you will be. :D

Thanks for the feed back. I think the husky te 510 enduro is good for about 50 at the rear wheel. But the motard verson is 122kg and the fs650 is 112kg. So weight could make a difference. Danno what model is yours and have you had any problems with it, and what is the matainence like. I only really want it for ride days and to ride to work.

Most reports have the TE/SMR510 at around 51-53 at the rear wheel and the berger at 61-63ish. The berger is also a bit lighter. The down side is that you'll likely find the berger is a bit more on the maintenance intenstive side, requiring oil changes every 10 hours. Given the service they desire they seem to be quite reliable, but mis-treated and...

If I were going to commute quite a bit on it I'd go for the husky510 purely because of the maintenance, as the oil change intervals are more like 20-25 hours (I do 25 on the DRZ which equates to about 1000k's). But in terms of being a bit lunatic, it'd be the berg all the way

The 450 or the 510 are the same, and I have 16800 km's and the engine hasn't been opened. The bergers apparently do require a little more engine work.

In all fairness to the high maintenance bikes,
If you keep the oil up to it, and most important of all,
CLEAN THE AIR CLEANER ELEMENT REGULARLY,
You can achieve like me 37000kms out of a WRF too. ;)

Bergs are no different, Save and except the horsepower differential...

Andy,
I posted a reply yesterday but it got vaporised. My Berg is an '04 FS650e, the factory built Motard. It currently has 11,800 odd kms and has been great both mechanically and reliability wise. I had to replace the battery a while ago because the auto-decomp system was sticking and the little battery struggled... all fixed. Also had to replace rollers on the rockers which they recommend at the 90-100 hour mark; apart from those two things the bike is original.
I did 8,000kms the first year I had it and have backed off this year with the advent of my pillion-significant-other-half, :D but it will sit for a couple weeks and fire to life without a question. :finga:
As Muzz says, change the oil regular and clean the filter about the same time and it runs great. I actually got 10,000 kms out of the OEM Michelin Pilot Sport tyres, which I was surprised at given my riding style!!! Try that on a crotch rocket
What I like most about the bike is the torque. You can ride it like you stole it, or just tool around in the gear and use the power to launch out of the corners or around the tin-cans on the road. My usage is about 80% commute and 20% tripping and day rides. Hope this helps.
