You can order the talon gear from Qld for $$$, but have you tried your local offroad shop? Many do wheel lacing, so if you ordered up the rims and located some hubs (or reused your originals) that could be the go...

Welcome Tel,
There are a couple of fellas just built DR650's.
The easiest is to use the rear 17" off your DR as the front and run a 110/70 tyre, and lace a 4.25/5.00" rear to your hub fitted with a 150-160/60.
Good luck with the builders in Sydney, as good as any other, after all they are only wheels and not that complicated.
I can help you with rims in various colours in the new year when stock starts to arrive.. ;)

maybe try Ballards in Penrith. I know they have wheelsets and rims for sale. They could probably point you in the right direction for a wheel builder as well.

can u get decent rubber in 110/70.

You could just lace rims in the sizes you want to your original hubs. i have even been told that you can have your spokes modified to suit the new rims. thats the cheapest way. Rd husky have a resonably well priced set of wheels and ballards aren't to bad either.

There has been a fair few sets of wheels for motards in QLD lately, just try the various motard sites classifieds.

good luck

I'm from Sydney and have bought $$$$$$$ worth of stuff from Ballards, but they're not really not into supermoto and can be expensive.

Try Skidz motorcycle tyres in Leichardt on 9518 1998 or www.skidz.com.au, he races supermoto and knows all about it, i think he might even have distanzias based on his website? He can get you just about anything if you ask him. he got me my brake kit and built my wheels etc.

Can't praise him enough, he's helped me out heaps with the XR's (half because he races an XR400 motard).
