mmmm ... ive always wanted one of these ktm 660 factory replica ... about 112kg and 75 hp or so ...

my question is are these available 2nd hand and what sort of dollars would you be looking at for one???

I had an idea before i sell the 98 620 sc that it could be a donor for frame number etc ... i swear officer it is a 98 model ... i just put new engine and suspension and ... and ??

I've only seen Adventure versions of the 660, but I'm sure that there would be a few 'tard versions here as well. Have never seen one up for sale, but I don't pay much attention to the 2nd hand market.
I know some guys who went riding with a 660 Adventure, they said that it made the stock 640 Adventure look like a BMW. Awesome to behold, even more so to ride it (they both did).

if i was going to do it it would have to be the factory replica with all the carbon and other goodies :) ... not that i would be able to ride it any faster than my drz motard LOL

That'd be biketrader or 'just bikes' for us sort. I think Photobuys disappeared off the news stands somewhere in the 80's ;)

Gents this is my first post, and wanted to reply to the question of the factory 660. I race a KTM 640 SM in a road racing events called BEARs ( british, american, European only ). It does not have Japanese bikes allowed.

There is a guy who also races from Highway performance bikes in Sydney who ownes such a beast that you are looking for unfortunatly his bike is not for sale. However we have spoken at lenght about the benifits of the upgrade to the 620 - 660. They have performed the operation on a bike that was stolen and blown up. All i can say is that the factory enging has some very trick parts and frame modifications from the standard one, no counter balance. I believe that the modification to the standard motor cost upto $2000 and form all accounts does not deliver that much more power. It think that the 660 factory cost him about 25K and it is a 2001 model, but it goes awfully hard. he won the F5 category and now races it in F3 and this year would have one apart from the droped clutch basket.
www.ozbearsracing.com.au here is another roadracing site in victoria who allows single cylinder machines http://www.hmrav.org/.

cheers.
