New web site style

Ok, so myself and Paul have been doing a little light draughting and looking at some new styles for the new web site. I've thrown together a few quick mockups with some different colour combinations to try and gauge people's reaction and preference. I'll probably add a sidebar to any of these, so don't take them all as gospel - its more to get some ideas and thoughts kicking around.

For each theme I've put two alts together - one that has space for an advertising patch (similar to what we have now) and the other which would need to run a separate advertising bar on top of what's shown. I've set up some voting options so let me know what you like :)

Needs a new patch logo with a bit more definition than a silhouette IMO,
Something to carry over onto merchandise that can be applied without the script.

I'm with Shane on this one, it's the most visually appealing to me, great colour combo. It's very purdy.
Is there anyway with this forum software that we can experiment with black backgrounds or like? Some forums have the option to choose between 2 or more styles in our personal preferences, will this software allow us to do this?

The software has the ability to support multiple styles, but I'm very reluctant to do so because, firstly, I want to establish a common style to brand the site with, and because I don't want to have to maintain multiple skins and pay for them. I'll probably do a mobile/iphone style skin as well, but will be quite functionally different to the regular skin...

The winning theme will be an aggregate of its two votes - if the two options are close together then i'll try and work up two different options further along than if its a landslide one way or the other. So on current counting green & yellow does lead, by 16 to 13. But there are a lot of days left as I want everyone to have a chance to air their preference :)

And btw, the graphic (ie. the bike) on the red + blue one isn't the final graphic - its just something I wanted to be representative. The final graphic will be one sourced from our own gallery of members pictures, and can also be decided by vote :)

Ok, voting is closed ... looks like green & gold has won it comfortably in the end, polling 19 votes total, 10 for an integrated ad patch and 9 for an in-line one. Red & blue, after shooting off to an early lead, comes in second with 13 in total but with the single largest vote for an individual style at 11 votes for an in-line scheme.

Paul has forwarded me some new styles to bounce some ideas around, so we'll go forward with the green and gold and look at developing two styles, one with an integrated ad patch and one with a top banner. I'll go out now and buy the green + gold theme and we should be able to start modifying from there.

Arse. The theme site (http://www.forumthemes.com) that does the theme we want is down for renno. No idea what their ETA is as their countdown is screwed up :x
