View Full Version : YZ Triple Clamps
I'm trying to find a set of 13mm offset triple clamps to suit an 07 - 09 YZ450F
The only ones i can find are they graves ones but they space the forklegs apart 4mm then you have to go through the hassle of getting new wheel spacers and spacing your calliper back in.....
any help on where i can find them?
and if they arent available i'll look at having a set made up, anyone interested?[/code]
u maybe be able to get Matt from Tyga performance to modify ur stock triples someone else might have his contact details. Otherwise u will just have to find a pair on Supermoto junkie

GYTR (Yamaha) do a SM specific clamp set that is 15mm wider than stock with the right offset including all the necessary spacers.

I have a adjustable top clamp from a 01 YZ, not sure on the offset or if they will fit your bike, but i'm sure it has OEM span between forks.

Hey Kurt , did you get to the track today ?
Yeah Oz, i wasn't riding but went to watch.
Pretty shitty turn out actually, started the day off with 6 motards and ended with 3........ one lads berg seized on enrty to turn 1 at 140kph+, Dan Petrie was running Jarrods carbon wheels for a trial run but his rear shock collapsed on the first race and one of the other lads binned an put a hole in the clutch cover.
I was itching to get out there and was hoping to have the basis of my bike ready for a run but Terry Hay from Racetech still has my suspension and i still can't find any suitable triple clamps
Where were you Oz?

I am not 100% but I think 14mm :?
Try a dealer at the spares desk level if they are not in the GYT-R genuine parts section of the website.
I will hunt up some information on them for you tomorrow in town here at
Wasons Motorcycles Yamaha ;)
Hey Muzz, Cheers for that, ur a champ

i have the above triple clamps and they dont fit without chopping them to fit a little bit and on the 08 the head stem is a different length which you can space out with washers or press in your standard one
also the standard spacers are for a earlier model and you will need to machine up some new ones
they are not offset enough and Stretch who is sometimes on line tried to send them over to tgya to machine but there isnt enough "meat" to machine them to a better offset
i would pay the money for the graves unit(which i will probably be doing myself)
hope this helps out

Good on you for the input Andrew.
I was wondering about the alloy frame neck after posting it up.
These were originally offered for the steel frames and with the 'older' 03 - 05 front ends.
I am still of the opinion there were at 14mm,
Can you shed light on that?

i couldnt calculate the offset but i believe that they are close to standard offset
i understand they were made for Johnsons subway yamaha and the main benefits where the wider clamps and adjustable bar mounts plus they must be more ridgid
Stretch knows more about them than i do
the only clamps that i know of with the right off set are the graves ones unless someone else knows of some others
Andrew
No worries, cheers for that.
It looks like the graves set is the only way to go.
The reason i didn't want to go to the graves clamps is my forged aluminium wheels will be arriving in feb and i wasn't sure if wheel spacers in different widths were readily available for them?????
Worst case i'll get the graves set and have to have some spacers machined up for the Marchessini's
Thanks heaps for the info guys i don't know a great deal about these jap bikes, Bergs on the other hand.....
Cheers

Yes Ash they fit the 02 models.
These were Factory offerings Andrew,
nothing to do with Shannons YZF except that a set was fitted to the 2005 bike he rode to the Championship win.
He never rode for Subway either.
They are definitely different offset to stock as WRF and YZF are different as well :?

HRC uses the RedBaron KTM clamps, so they must be at least decent. I don't think they'll deal direct though, and the Aussie distributor had a ridiculous mark up on them when I checked, and a long time to get them in.

They have an Add to Cart button on the page so I'm guessing you can buy through their web shop.

Ash do you want me to chase you a set of the GYT-R ones for the little screamer?
HI Kurt,
I will give you a call, the clamps on Sam's new Yamaha 250f are 19 mm offset. I will let you know the brand.
