Ash, being from the karting side of life, ever heard of Ross Plum Raceway at Borambola 24 kms east of Wagga? I leased the property next door to the property owned by Ross until he died and his wife had the kart track built for the Wagga Kart Club to use. Having said that it was 17 years ago and I dont know if the property is still in the hands of the Plum family or has been realised and the track no longer available for use. I used to ride my Sportster on it back then to impress my mates with how to back in a 200 kg piece of shit! It was a grouse circuit about 800 metre I think, but with the natural ampitheatre its in, a dirt section is a snack, and a real fu#king dirt section, with like a downhill 100 foot drop off or something :bugeye: There is also a ex WW2 training camp at Uranquinty 15 kms south of Wagga that has a 2000' tarmac runway covered in grass runners which is now owned by one of John Elliots Pastoral Companies, which is also IDEAL! real wide, about 200' It could be set up Euro but until I get real financial again I cant move on these things. They are about, so dont stop the searching. Ever thought of unopened residential estates and private raceways for Hillclimb? I have and are still putting together detailed structuring and associated admin to run meetings in conjunction with cars at some venues in Victoria. Mt. Major at Dookie east of Shepparton has an access road that was used for hillclimbs years ago, now managed by TESTRA ...Thoughts...( for whoever works for that illustrious company :D)

Don't know the name, but might be worth looking at still.
You just gave me an idea.
Rob roy hillclimb is owned by the MG car club and they have put on Down Hill MT bike races there as well. The hill climb is very short though. might be an option.

Rob Roy is a long established hillclimb circuit and I have first hand knowledge of it during the 60's and 70's as my family were all speed freaks too. It is worthy of a serious presentation to the MG car club especially if a criteria was set to make all machines comply and be regulated by the Rec Rego system, or as fully registered bikes like ours. This affords a level of TAC cover, but not at competiton level. If a day were negotiated it would have to be recreationally promoted... Am I making sense here?.. I am searching for an alternative to a costly insurance premium, whereby the onus is solely on the rider and the car club is, including those offering the opportunity to ride for a day, totally indemnified by the use of the insurance attached to the rec reg system.

I'm not sure how competition liability insurance is worked out, but I've got a MA recreational license which lets me get on to Broadford or any other MA sanctioned track during a regular practice day. Perhaps we could look at an arrangement through MA requiring people to have rec licenses in order to keep the premiums down?
The rec license is only $80 a year, which is a fraction of a competition license, but of course doesn't cover "competition" use, but does at least get you on track for open practice etc.

Thats the shot Neil, but I think we need M.A. affiliation first dont we? Otherwise there is nothing to bind us as a club :? as such. Track permits and detail like that are required for the policy to be issued/underwritten by M.A.
