If anyone knows of any track time from after the racing in WA (29 30 Nov) post it up please.
There is nothing on here (Brisbane) for the rest of the year that I know of and I wouldn't mind doing some more riding in the off season.
Might even go down to Melbourne one day if I am crazy enough to drive for a days practice, which I think I am.
So anything at all really that has got tarmac. I can do dirt around here.

Cheers

Joe

13th hey, I might see if I can do that. My tyres from WA should be OK so all I need is petrol and some cash. Is it a race or just practice ?
Mystery team event ??

Hey Steve ! We are going to Townsville !

hey Joe , I wasnt there last year for the event , but by the sounds of it , it was a really good day / night.... It is racing though.

What I understand is they match you with someone from another class & your points are accumulated.... something like that anyway.

Cmon Steve , you can do it :D

Did you come up for the State round Joe ?

I say, Fuck it! If I have a bike to ride I'm going!

I haven't ridden a motard for 2 months now, it's been too long!

Jov, wanna go halves on fuel?

SM93
18-11-2008, 04:22 PM

Joe

Did you come up for the State round Joe ?

Racing is good, I would prefer to drive and race than just to practice.
Nah I have not even seen the track, I only just got my tard when that round was on.

Well sounds like it is a goer.
How do we enter ?

How do we enter ?

Try the front gate but if it's closed you might need a Victorian to help you work out how to get in. :P

Joe

 I think that would hinder rather than help.

Cool cool.

DO we race the 45min iron man event ? I just don't think the fuel in a motard will last that long ? Not the ape anyway.

devo
18-11-2008, 09:01 PM
I don't see a 45min motard event, just 2 6 lappers and a 10 lapper. The Ape will survive... but we prob won't in the heat.

Joe
18-11-2008, 10:35 PM
Yeah would help if I read it all haha. 45 mins would be pretty cool to try though, maybe with a fuel stop, just would want some new tyres.

Well might get my cams in for this one 8)

So Me, Steve, Jov & Paul... all in ?

Joe

Who needs friends when you could ride eh ?
No matter, I am going anyway. Anyone else who wants to come can tag along. Jeeze I hope I have some cash.... she be right.

just read the regs. for the meet & it states that it's a Closed to Club event.

Might be an idea to email or phone Gary , his particulars are on the first page of the regs/noms.

They are a pretty laid back committee , so I doubt they would have a problem , but would be wise just to check first.

I cant see them turning down more competitors. It could only be a boost for the event to have more guys turn up ??

From the Melbourne angle there will be access to TT over the Christmas period and it would pay to contact TT staff direct before heading over with the volumes of Christmas work breakups that take on the hire karts.

Regular TT track days will still be able to be attended,
Just any out of the 'norm' need a bit of prior planning ;)

If they run some days in Janurary, Feb I might make the trip, or maybe even have a 2 day practice on to make it more worthwhile for the drive would be cool. Do they do consecutive days ?

MarkeeMark

Joe you can ride a TT if they are open mate, midweek even.
I'll look up Champions Ride days and maybe we can organise a day with them and a day at TT in late Jan or early Feb.
Plan it even better and get a practice day in NSW as well.
If you want pain, come down and do the Racefit Hi Alititude Camp with me on Jan 30th, 31st and 1st Feb!

There is usually another 2 day TT weekend at the end of January to get back into it after everyone has done the Christmas thing.
School holidays are always a bad time for Dads that have time off work, Bike riding / track days are the last thing that gets done unless your kids are into it too.
Champions have a Broadford day on around the same time (Friday 16th Jan 09) at the $110 rate and bookings are still open ;)
I will speak to the TT Staff regards a weekend for the 16 / 17 Jan and possibly the morning of the 18th when we are there next weekend :D

Joe
20-11-2008, 07:41 PM
Cool, thanks fellas. Post it up wheneven you find out, end of Jan sounds pretty good.

Yeah Mark, thinking about it hey... it would be pretty cool to just smash yourself at high alt... well depending on someones definition of cool hahaha but think about how easy sea level would be after that.
I am pretty keen on going to Spain too... you know you want to. I was hoping to save up to buy some bulk tyres at the end of the year but I keep spending all my money !

MarkeeMark
20-11-2008, 08:00 PM
Bugger it mate let's plan it properly and do SPAIN 2010! Shane will be settled by then and we can negotiate a deal on 3 bikes! DEVO??????? ;)

PS. I get the cool bit, I love pushing the envelope while training and feeling exhausted after!

Joe
20-11-2008, 08:11 PM
Yeah, well we will plan a trip properly for 2010 but I will just do a solo, unorganised, wing it trip in March as a test for when we do it properly the next year

Joe

OK we are not going to Townsville anymore to race on advice from Ross and also funding.

But... January there is a track day at EC and I have just had the great idea of driving to EC do that track day then continuing on to Vic to ride at TT for a day or 2 and hopefully I will have an MX bike by then and can do some other trails or MX down there as well. Have a good whole week of riding.
Well I just made that plan now so I don't know who will come and I don't know the date for EC yet but sounds good in theory.
SO maybe when I know the EC date someone can let me know about a TT date or maybe we could get all of us to go there for a ride.

SM93
05-12-2008, 04:39 PM
we could do a roadie just for TT??? is it open over xmas???

Joe
05-12-2008, 04:44 PM
Yeah but I think Jan will suit me better and it would be better to do more riding if we are going to make the trip.

SM93
05-12-2008, 04:47 PM
TT would work for me as the missus could ride her bike there to. i know she would be keen for a roadtrip. Early January is TT open

Joe
05-12-2008, 04:48 PM
Well maybe we meet up at TT then boy ! Because I have a cheap day at EC because the last one got cancelled.

SM93
05-12-2008, 04:50 PM

Muzzard

TT is open over Christmas and January as usual but its busy through then with hire karts and privateer karts / pocketbikes too being holidays.
Give us an indication as to when you are likely to be wanting to do a track day there and I will ring Daryl or Shelley and confirm the availability ;)

I would be looking for a track day around mid January as it is for another weekend deal...

Joe
05-12-2008, 05:45 PM
I'll post up when I know about EC, I think it may be around mid Jan as well.

There is a trackday at Broadford on the 16th Jan, if there was a possibility of riding TT on the 17th that would be cool.

Muzzard
05-12-2008, 09:43 PM
Can do that Paul,
That was suggested earlier and thought it would be a good advantage to track time for blokes travelling.
Broadford on Friday
TT Saturday.
Worth a bit of driving then ;)

New thread concerning that

OK, as far as I know EC practice was the 30th Jan but has been cancelled. So hopefully we will find out when the next one is in Feb sometime and then try organise a day or 2 to ride at TT... I need to ride.

MarkeeMark
30-12-2008, 09:04 PM
Joe are you on Rachael Eagle's email list? She's about to start a NSW sumo club too.

Joe
07-01-2009, 08:24 PM
Yeah Mark, I did read that. Might get some more racing in NSW ?
I doubt me driving to NSW and VIC for practice will be a regular thing but who knows ? A lot of money just for a practice that may or may not get rained out and cancelled... like last time
I am aiming for Feb to come down as long as I can afford it and like I said do an EC day and then hopefully one at TT.
By then it will be a long time since I have been on the bike, I will be going crazy !

Joe TT is a good little track but its not worth that far of a drive unless your going to be there for something else .
what happened to newcastle ?? can you still ride there its a great track and loads of fun that and orin park are the best 2 tracks in aus .

If anyone does want to come down to vic for the TT (or whatever) then let us know as we can probably sort you out free accomodation. I can sleep a few at my place if you don't mind an assortment of bed, couch and inflatable mattresses.

Juz has inflatables as well, but you may get a rude surprise in the middle of the night

You might get a PM from Gary (Gaz) and son.
They are thinking of coming down for the 17th and would sure appreciate the offer Neil.
You would like what they will bring too ;)
