Hi Guys,

just noticed last night that my header pipe came loose from where it connects to the mid pipe on my bike.

No biggie so I tightened the clamp up last night and rode to work this morning and it has come loose again...

Am I missing something here? I tightened the sucka pretty good but there seems to be a bit of play, I don't get why it's coming loose??

Is there anything that could be warn out that needs replacing either on the header or mid pipe?

There should be a gasket that goes in there.

I know this, because I left mine out. Hot exhaust gas then melted my brake fluid reservoir
Pure luck that my bike didn't catch fire 8)

Gasket aey... Hmm the only thing I can think of is I had my ignition coil replaced recently, ya reckon it would have involved removing the mid section of the exhaust??

Pipe off for the work usually given the location.
The gasket could be damaged inside / scored,
Or just plain missing too as you have found no doubt.

Got a welder?

I was thinking that you know, being a lazy farker and all, couple tacks around it should hold it nicely :D

Coil comes off no problems on an SMC without removing the pipes, it's high up under the tank.

That gasket is a solid ring so it has been left out when they took the zorst off, it can't fall off. (God only knows why they took it off)...

I've only ever had to take mine off to replace the RHS exhaust flange with the non SAS one when I removed the secondary air system.

I'd go back to the stealership that did your work recently and ask them where the fark it is....

I was supposed to be being sarcastic but now I read it back doesn't sound like that ...

Sarcastically then,
