I'm thinking about going for a ride this Sunday morning if anyone's keen to come along.

Sunday morning, 0830, BP Magill - cnr Magill Rd and Portrush Rd, (someone correct me on the address please if I'm wrong).

Forecast at this stage is 21oC with a shower or two - but considering how much rain we've had over the last couple of years, I doubt that we'll need any wet weather gear...

No-one????

You guys are all soft.

I'm glad I'm going for a dirt ride on my 525 on Sat!

you got to give it more than two hours for peeps to read the post and see if they can make it.

I will most likely be out Saturday but if that does not work out then i should be there. I will let you know

Greeny - have a look at the post times my friend - 0547 and 1953 - I'm not very good at maths, but that's a little more than 2 hours...

I serviced my bikes last night - ready for the weekend.

I'm way over this 4 stroke maintenance. Gonna have to get a 2 stroke for the dirt methinks.

must be a while since you rebuilt a 2smoke - it's overrated.

I can't get out sunday but am trying to squeeze a quick ad-hoc saturday ride in somewhere - want to give it a decent test (if i can drop the oil sometime tonight......).

Welcome to the forum Feral. You'll find it's bit more easy going than DBW - the guys are a bit more down to earth.

You better post up some pics of this WR with the 17's on.

Oh, and as for rebuilding a ring-ding, I reckon I could do the rings on a 2 stroke in not much more time than it takes me to change the oil and clean the FOUR filters on my 525. And I only have to rebuild the smoker about once a season, compared with giving the thumper a full service once every couple of rides. My 530 has done 500 k's and I've changed the oil twice already!

You bloody Qld'ers - always rubbing it in that you live in paradise.
You might have beautiful weather, even more beautiful women, great beaches, surf, RAINFALL, the Great Barrier Reef, a state Gov that spends money on roads and infrastructure, a top track that actually allows motards to ride there, regular motard racing, etc.

Well, we've got, umm, err, umm, we've got plenty of sand and DUST!

what do people on dbw whang on and get excited about things.....

yeh the oil change on the WR is pretty easy (certainly not 4 filters), but i also used to be pretty hard on the 2 strokes.

have a couple of photo's but they're a tossup between the and ugly motard and a messy shed will grab one later.

I am sure he will come up with some reason not come riding.
Think I recall him saying something about getting his nails done, or was it he was getting a facial.

Well I am in anyway.

Vaughns in too!

See you at the BP!
BRAAAAAAAAP!

a couple of teething issues (adjustments needed) but a 120km spin this morning - gotta get some new gloves.

saw no other bikes (5 roadies parked in lobethal) until coming back to magill rd when a husq'y (full leathers) was heading out of town,

Should come along tomorrow Feral.

A Mate and I headed out this morning about 0830 and it was quiet in the hills. Don't think i saw another bike either.

It was a bit chilly and did look like rain. Guess that was enough to keep the Sportbikes tucked up safe and warm in their garages.

I just spoke to Owen - the excuses were thick and fast...

"I just moved house and I don't have internet..."
"I need to change my oil..."
"I don't have any oil here."
"I've got some oil, but I don't have a garage."

He may rock up.

I on the other hand, will be there at 0830.

I'll see whoever comes along then.

Your bike looks good Feral.
The white wheels work well on the Yamaha.

It's a pity you can't come tomorrow, I only get one weekend off every 3 weeks. The other guys will be happy to go for a ride with you before then though.

This morning's ride is postponed due to rain and thunder storms.

It's raining quite heavily here with heaps of thunder.

I don't mind a damp ride, but riding on the road in pouring rain is no fun.

I just phoned Greeny, if it dries out later, we may head out.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

This shits me.

I was out riding in the dirt all day yesterday. It was hot and dusty as hell. We were all praying for even just a little bit of rain.

The big fella in the sky really is a smart arse.

I'm sure you could find a set of wheels for next to nothing though.

Greeny and I ended up going for a fang after lunch. There were still a couple of damp patches around, but nothing major.

It ended up being a fun ride.

There's my ride report. There are no pics.

Howdy all Adelaide people!
There is a ride day at mallala for road bikes so its going to be sportbike arena more than for us! BUT I am wanting somebody else to ride with and maybe show me the way to ride as i am only new to this Motard style! The track is the best place to learn with the ambulance waiting and no trucks cars etc so go hard and learn safely ish!
I hopefully will have my wheels all ready otherwise it will be with the stock dirt size rims with road tyres on them! I have only had my XR 600 for just over a week now!Its such a wild ride on motocross tyres but am looking forward to getting road wheels and tyres set up for the ride!
Hope to see you out there!

I know someone who has a set of motard wheels for an XR600 that might part with them for around the $750 mark if you want to spend that much,
Black rims new spokes.
Mags is the next cheapest option if you are handy.

G'day rpmpark, Those wheels Muzz know of sound like a bargain, and will transorm the bike!
Come riding with us, I need other big bores to back me up against all the pesky little 450's...

I love the mother ship, it's just that riding with all the little bikes is like a brickie taking a Chihuahua for a walk in public.

Pfft, got nothin on the mighty 610.......Yes I'm pissed
I'll worry about it when people have to wait for me (except for on the dirt KTM39 ;) )
Gotta admit, If I was after a skinny, high maintenance girl the 530 would be right up there, definatly liked her more than the husky 450, but for me the 610 is the one, just need to find a bike for the 24hr next year now...

Well the wheels sound good but.....I do have rgv rims already from my RGV that has an Xr 600 motor in it. So it is a cheaper option.I would like to have a look at those wheels as i could bolt them straight on and ride NOW!!!!! hmmmm where r those wheels?

rpmpark
08-11-2008, 10:04 AM
Actually were r the wheels? Could you get me the number or help me organise looking at them! Please!!!!!!
