getting the wheel spacer out?

got a ktm 530exc-r with the motard wheels, just pulled the wheels off today to do some work, but got a lil stuck when i was trying to remove the wheel spacer from the sprocket side of the rear wheel, to pack a lil grease in there, just wouldn't budge...

had any1 had any experience removing it? all the rest came out easy as pie

If it's just a spacer it should just slide out put some pliers or something on it and twist it the dirrection of the wheel to loosen it up ??Then try sliding it out?

Can you knock it out from the other side with a bar and a rubber mallet if you can get to the inside lip?
If you catch my drift.
