I was after a dunger to ride to work. I am not to fussed about brands but would want something reliable that can sit on the freeway no worries. I don't want to spend any more than $3000

Get a Kinlon or an Arquin motard.
The Kinlon should be around what you want to pay and will be new.
Watch EGay ;)
Sure its a 200cc engine but it will do the job.
Freeway not as well as the suburban street but again its new and therefore most likely serve you more reliably initially anyway.

See the Puzey XTR2 thread,
Email came in today with some limited details so might be worthy of a look.
I have asked to be privvy to a SM bike as soon as one is available so will be better able to answer any questions regards value for what you seek.
They are close to your price range, water instead of air cooled and offer 25HP enough to keep you rolling nicely on the freeway at 100 - 110kph IMO.

Mmm,
I'll vouch for the fact they crash well after having to help Mark 'straighten' out a couple recently
Yeah they seem to take a hammering too but shit,
You can only ride it in the dark so your mates dont see you.
No good for commuting unless its night shift

I will have to check them out. A motard would be mad.
