Wondering if any of you ride/race any off-road stuff, and if so, is there much place to ride near Melbourne?

Any links would be good if you have any, looking to hit the ground running if its possible.

Cheers Fella's

Hi Muzz,
We have a shit load of offroad recreation areas to ride mate.
Some that are private open to the public, and some public needing recreational registration costing initially around $150 plus lighting kit if its a MX'er.
There is organised Enduros all over Australia from local club level onwards.
I ride recreationally offroad through the forests near to my house,
Which would be a bit like the Hare scrambles you ask of,
Only between a heap of mates. ;)

MX track wise there is about 4 that I know of close by,
If not in the metro area, and they are like points on the compass logistically, so no matter where you decide to settle,
You will have something close by.

If you like jumps, get your app into www.NDMX.com.au and join me for some MX fun. There is Broadford and Frankston as well, but not as cool, IMHO.

Sibbo's right, Nunawading is the go! broadmeadows is more like a real MX track with jumps and Nunawading is more like an areana cross track. I prefer Nunnawading and Broady they're more fun. Frankston is always hard work and there isn't any jumps to relax on.

No my boy, I was out of control the entire time and don't know how I did not crash all the time! I had many off track adventures after getting too lose, but just kept it spinning.

No skill, ass is what I was using. It was the hardest work for the slowest speed I have ever endured. I was rooted and I could of run faster (in the dry). But I had a ball!
