I'm up for going along for a look ... I'd imagine there'd be quite a few guys wanting to get some practice in there so might sit on the sidelines rather than wobbling around in front of them
Hopefully might have some talent out there though

Screw them Neil, get out there and wobble away man! I am in Melbourne for a specialist appointment 17th, and would love to make it for the practice night. I may ride back again on Tuesday for the practice but it will be tight time wise as I'm spread pretty thin at the moment.

My 'KTM ridin, tree huggin' hippy' mate from next door and his 'aging missile in the bush' riding buddy would like to come for a looksee too, Have van and bike transport on offer with these fellas so I may ride the evening but would be wanting to swap a bit of gear first. ( mudguards and headlight nacelle would be a minimum) Mmmmm :-k What if we did an impromptu display on Tuesday? No big deal, just a cover and somewhere for those of us who go to congregate, with a bike or 2 under the cover. I wouldn't mind sitting on the fence and watching/coaching any of you guys if you were undecided about riding....Well?..

I can make it to the track, but I can't ride it as I haven't fixed my jacket yet.
I'm also off to work first thing Wed morning, so stacking and getting hurt is not an option.
I'll ride the retard, just to look like I fit in.
dicky.

I think a mother cow just shit on my house! I wont be coming down tomorrow now, as at late notice, :x (note the time of the post!) I have a meeting to attend that cannot be moved...
I apologise for the lack of appearance at this session, but by next months practice night should have the 3 valve out to punt around, so those with leathers, bring them to next months meeting and see for yourself how the new bike goes!

They were coming (http://members.ii.net/~dotzen/Coming.jpg) and going (http://members.ii.net/~dotzen/Going.jpg) all over the place.
Some fast, some not so fast, some absolute beginners.
I think I'd better get my leathers fixed.

Just got back home ... I stuck around there until about 9pm before heading off just as the last of the sunlight was dissapearing. Good evening's entertainment and quite a few lads out practicing for Saturday as well as a few road registered bikes as well. Some quick fellas out there, including a certain somebody on a #8 subway sponsored YZ450....
There was probably about a dozen people or so hitting the track at various times, and at one point it was quite congested, which made for great viewing 8) Not sure who the fella was, but there was a bloke on a CRF450 plated as 124 with cast alloy wheels who was absolutely hooting, and was definately the fastest guy circulating tonight.
Interesting mix of machines. The aforementioned CRF was absolutely flying, and down the back straight was unbelievably fast compared to most everything else, at least when it wasn't doing a mono the entire length of the back straight that is  A fairly large fella was punting around a new looking Husaberg FS650 ... had a spill during the night but was out and at it again ... those things must have a whole heap of punch because down the main straight he was able to visibly pull away from the aforementioned #8 subway yamaha .... YIKES!
Interesting to watch the different styles being employed by the various guys. Sitting up on the balcony you could quite evidently see the different styles at work ... some guys had knee out road racing style, others were leg out MX style ... can't say one is better than the other, but I can definately say that the MX style was definately quicker around the tighter sections with lots of direction changes, as the road race style just took way too long to reposition the body.
But the road race style was definately quicker through the long 3 apex corner that goes around where the main building is, allowing greater lean angle and better weight transfer. The aforementioned CRF pilot was using both styles where each was the most appropriate and was absolutely hooting throug all sections of the track. A couple of guys lost it around the same corner, coming unstuck where the rise in the track unloads the front tyre ... each guy was using a different style so looks like there wasn't much difference in that respect between them.
Unfortunately I didn't get any snaps (camera left at home), and didn't get to hand out any flyers (laser printer busted at work). D'OH!! :x But talked to a couple of guys and told them about the web site at least :P Looks like Ash got hung up though, as it was just me there as far as I could see, but there was a LC4 supermoto parked near the main building :-k
Oh well .... ROLL ON SATURDAY!!! :supz:

And yes, Adam was setting a few sparks adrift, especially through the 3 apex corner near the main clubhouse 8)
On Dicky's second pic you can see the scrape marks where one of the 2 guys went down on the exit of that corner as the suspension unloads ... both were husabergs coincidently :-k

Jeez, who knows? I know the 450 was there cause its in my mates photos, along with I think Kade Mosig? on the 250. I did see Caridis head in the happy snaps, but he was aboard an undecalled 05 by the looks.
