Hello folks. I'm new to this site and pretty new to Motards. I previously had a DRZ400 SM which I loved and now ride a Buell. I'd love to get a smaller (250ish or even smaller) motard I can cruize to work with. Any suggestions? Makes/models/secondhand/new?

I don't think you'll be able to go past the WR250X. Not too many around 2nd hand I wouldn't think, but there's a demo with a few bits on it in Adelaide (PM STRETCH).

Thanks Devo. Had considered that one but thought it a bit pricey. Also can't even get a demo ride on one here in WA as there's only a handfull of them in the entire state.

Something like a TTR/DR/XR250?

There are also the older and softish 2 stroke enduros like the DT200 that could be reliable fun.

I know. They're great value I reckon. Even at the 2006 price (when I had mine) and now they've come down even further.

Another drz can probably be had fairly cheap.

WR-X sounds like a stack of fun for around town commuting, but will need a little more tlc than a drz.

Or pick up a cheap 2 stroke like a CR250M or a RMX or something :)

Well i love my wr250f. Its hella fun and nimble. Plenty of poke too. I would def recommend it, i rode the wr250x as well, but i can honestly say the wrf is better, lighter handling, and more snappy throttle response.

Don't know mate.
I have heard good things about their reliability through some customers and I haven't heard anything overly bad yet.

I've been on a few bike sites and this is one of the best. You guys are really helpful. Thanks again.
