Quite a turn out today, lots of racers for us roadies to avoid.
Interesting to learn that if we raced we might not come last.
Sibbo ruined his record and didn't deck it.
I did instead. Too hard on cold tyres, ouch.
No damage to anything important (the bike).
Didn't see Ash, again. Pansy.
A couple of pics in the gallery, more later.
If anyone wants good copies of any of my pics just let me know.
I'll send the original files if you can handle them, or big jpg's.

Yep, good day indeed - amazing to see big transporters and guys with tyrewarmers and stuff  Nice day to be out for a wobble anyways :D
Sorry to hear about the decking dicky :( But you were flying around the track like there was no tomorrow

I had a good day and I know Sam is keener than he was this morning by the grin on the dial and the banter on the trip home. :)
I missed Dicky throwing his bike on the ground, but did see the evidence of the said 'off' on the end of his barkbusters, not to mention the very red right hand...
How is the thumb Dicky?
Neil buzzed around like a bee and sort of looked a bit like one with the Tiger Angels and mixture of bling-ness adorning the DRZ.
It was rumbling along nicely and could be heard over the other bikes easily ...
Play it loud OK ...
Sibbo is bustin' for some sponsorship and managed to impress us all with his ability to stay upright, without any flames being involved, Although a nicely blued disc attests to the fact he did try at both ...
Antti brought the Big Red Machine for a look, He did express a desire for a better brake and having ridden with Antti on a few occasions agree, as he would be off at the end of the first lap :rarrow: ...
Hamp made to journey from Ballarat today again to add numbers, Thanks mate. ;)
Some snap, crackle and poppin' going on today from the little red girl, maybe it misses Jake. More fuel I think I heard it say.
A few pocket bikes turned up today, as usual for them Saturdays, and particularly today as they have a race meeting tomorrow, and were dismayed at the lack of session times.
Put more bluntly, That the 'motard riders' seemed to have the bigger 15 minute sessions than the 15 minute they had.
I agree whole heartedly with that concern too,
And further say, I think that in the initial instance, We as the newer discipline into the venue and on smaller numbers, Must and will work within the frame work compromise we agreed on in the first place.
15 minutes each, on a rotating session basis.
Today was the motard riders having their 25 minutes and then when the mini session was on, as there was only a couple of 2 strokes there to test and tune for tomorrow and myself when they would come in to the pits to do adjustments, the motard riders seemed to think that was the end of the session and returned to the track.
This pissed off a few of them today, and I would not appreciate it either...
I did speak to one bloke who was annoyed, and he did make reference to the fact the 'other motard riders' who were here the last few weeks, seemed good to share the track with, (US FOLKS!) and asked where did all the bikes come from when they were not here for the last few track days ... :?:
Apologies to those offended today, Although not directly responsible, Feel for our sport to progress in Victoria we must not let these issues go unresolved on the day.
Just my 2 bobs worth ...

Yeah Yeah Yeah I know I wasn't there. I had the site open all day at work to see what was going on!!! I only hope I can get there for the next one. I'm not going to commit because every time I do that, something comes up. I try to get to every event but it sometimes just can't happen
I have to be commited to my work at the moment and hopfuly it will payoff!!
Is there going to be practice again in 2 weeks?

Brett was flying around at a good old clip, I think he's just decided that sliding tyres is a bit more fun than sliding leathers
I can totally sympathise with the pocket bike guys - I think some more organisation around the sessions would help no end though, such as announcing the sessions in the pits. Certainly if I'm there and braxton needs some help with this sort of organisation I'll stick my hand up to chip in
The DRZ went well today, and I was particularly pleased that it didnt seem to drop much off down the straight compared to the 'race' bikes, despite me doing at least 1 gear change less :-k Now all I've got to do is work out how to work all these controls, such as handlebars, the velocitator and decelomatrix and such and so forth :D
Btw, that guy who was riding the pocket bike who only had one arm and one leg ... what can I say ...      AWESOME!! 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

I got a few more little vids Shane, but hell man I'm a rider not a cameraman so it aint real pretty and Channel 10 wouldn't use it!
There were a few punting pretty quickly, and some generous rubber being applied...
Mate a freestyle motard is one like mine, 'Go over that jump Muzz,' says the group of young fellas on their CR250's and YZF's while riding the supercross track on my mates farm at Lima ...
You ride it up to the 85' triple in 4th and friggin' well hang on thinking to yourself the whole way through the air, 'Man, this must look cool', before over jumping the landing, bottoming on the windrow adjoining the track, and then spearing off into the oats to bin it ...

Who suggested I was just rolling around? ASH! Never!
No, I just wanted to NOT crash, so I concentrated on what I was doing. Ie. no hamfistedness into corners....seemed to work.
It was fun with all the racers there, I managed to hold one group of them up for laps and laps. I also passed the 2 slow guys, who had tyre warmers on their slicks!!
Now, I do believe Barros (in the old days) used to get a really good start and then hold everyone up for half of the race. I think I can do that, it would offer good coverage for sponsors, as I will be at the front of the pack (possible a lap or 2 behind!).
Back to reality, it was a fantastic day and great fun trying to stay with the racers. Lots of learning was done and I need more.....um abili.....no....HP!!!

Ah Sibbo,
You were the only one sporting a ring-a-ding-ding outta ya pipe...
When are you gonna wise up to the fact 2 strokes are for :chainsaw: and 4 strokes are for real motards?
Trade it for a YZF...
Sibbo
05-09-2005, 12:42 PM
There was a CR500, but he blew it up trying to get away from me!!
If you can organise a 4 stroke that costs the same to run (rebuld) and buy as a smoker, and also has some sort of slipper clutch, then I might consider getting one. The only way that will happen is if a sponsor wants to cover the additional cost of running a 4 stroke.....and well all know that will never happen!
