I'd like to say it is me, but it's not :(
She who must be obeyed wouldn't let me go to Thailand on my own.
I don't why, once you get past 50 "it takes you all night to do what you used to do all nights"
My guess is it is Josh McFarlane
Best of luck at the weekend Shane
Maybe one day I'll get over for a "ride or 2" :P :P

Nice one Steve - Lucky you didn't beat Shane otherwise you'd be looking for somewhere else to stay!

Shane - I think it's great that you gave Steve the opportunity to race and well done on the first place (is smiling not allowed on the podium? or was everyone trying not to fall over from heat exhaustion!).

Well done guys. Excellent stuff.
Good to see you standing on the top step of the podium Shane.
Another trophy to be dusted.
Devo, finally getting international recognition. You'll have to go back for round 2 now.
Good to see the Aprilia's at the front.
Well done, well done, well done.

it was 37 degrees and about 90% humidity , so we were not feeling the best :o :o

but this morning was worse on the track as we sunk full bottle of vodka last night sitting in the pool , so we done it hard

Hectic. Been a long weekend, flight got in this morning and taxi straight to work. But you know this shit is good when you go 15000km's to ride 50km's on a motard. :D :D :D

Ripper track on saturday right in the guts of Bangkok. Pretty slippy and puddles in the run off areas that you could (and they did) lose a scooter in, and a great layout with lots of tight stuff. :D Had a small off in practice testing a wet patch for grip (it had none). Race 1 was a cockup after I didn't select 1st gear properly on the start line and "launched" in neutral. All good though, it was good fun rounding up a few bikes and managing to chase down Colrob and a Thai bloke battling up ahead. After finally closing the gap, the heat got the best of me, and mentally I had given up. Colin must have been feeling the heat too, as at the next corner he exited the track straight into one of the aforementioned swamp areas in spectacular fashion for a cool off. :D Gotta take it when it comes, and I lucked a spot on the front row for the 2nd race.

Race 2 was a lonely one and I held 5th from start to finish. I fairly well had my skirt on, and didnt do enough to keep up and mount a challenge on 4th. 1st through 3rd simply buggered off, with some really close racing between them.

Really glad we fought through the vodka the next morning and headed out to Bira, just a few minutes from Shane's house. Smooooth, grippy as hell, and we had the place to ourselves. I also finally started to work the bike properly and shit it really sings when you get it right and keep the revs up to it. It's a completely different animal to the 525 and 550, and I can see how a decent pilot would really get some pace out of it.

Geometry and the power were the biggest differences to my 550, and arguably both made it more difficult to ride for a mere mortal. I near landed on my head tipping it into the first corner it tipped in that quick. :D It really turns in, and remains eager whilst leant over to change line, switch back, or tip you on your head at a whim. Really responsive, but then you've gotta be able to use it I guess. The power was all up high in the revs. There was a decent hit as it came on, but if you kept it in the power it was linear the whole way. There's certainly no torquing it out of corners if you stuff up.

A really good experience, and a shit load of fun. New tracks, new people to ride with, and I was really keen to have a crack on a genuine race bike.

Thanks again especially to Shane and Colin.
