Doug Henry was seriously injured at this weekend's AMA Supermoto round in Copper Mountain, CO. The Graves Yamaha rider, who had dominated the series to this point, was tripling a section in the dirt that Travis Pastrana was doing. Doug made it several times but came up short and crashed hard late in his practice session. He was taken to a medical center in Vail, where it was determined he had fractured his pelvis, collapsed his lung, separated his shoulder, and suffered a concussion. The doctors expect Henry to make a full recovery, but he will have to stay in Colorado for the week so his lung can heal.
With Henry out, Jeff Ward took control of the series, winning all four main events throughout the weekend. Pastrana finished as high as fourth in one of the finals, but Travis also hit the ground on a tricky jump section when his chain snapped. He crawled off the track and was looked over by the medical personnel. No word on whether or not he was injured, but spectators said it was an ugly crash.
