Anyone else keen? You've got 6 weeks notice on this one! ;)
Broadford Track Day with Champion Ride Days Sat 14th June
$135 but cheaper if we get a group together.
Cheers Mark
Ok here goes, I've contacted champion ride days about joining in at broadford when their running there. They said we are welcome to join in. The cost is $135 for all day SAT But if we book under the VSMR umbrella for 6 or more riders then it,s a saving of $25 dollars which is $110 per rider per day.(insurance coverage)
You only need a valid or canncelled (JUZ) Vic licence. A roadworthy bike helmet, boots and a full set of leathers . There is also sets of leathers for hire on the day for those who have none but they must be booked as they only have a limited no of sets. This is TT not racing but we can time each other to see who's the fastest for our own records.... If you are interested contact me via PM. I have to book it and prepay to get the saving. If you book and cannot attend you must notify me to sell your spot to another rider because I have to list the riders under my group booking. If you carnt sell your spot or turn up tuff you did your hard earned cash.. Spectators and family enter free... they have tyre changing and food and drinks ambo's and marshells all supplied. This sounds like a good option for those who want to give it a RED HOT GO ..... Of course I'll take heaps of photos cause I got no bike and I get in for free.....
Reply to this thread for numbers interested, the PM is for when I book!!!!!!!
Regards BEDO (Ian)
Edit/ added Bedo's info :)

Me too mate, but like Shane said you will sit around alot more and ride a whole lot less.
Plus I'd prefer to ride in the rain on a track than on the road!
And as a bonus you will learn how to powerslide really well after a days riding at a track in the rain.
Nick I've even got a spare front wet you could borrow for the day(or give me $20 and its yours!)
SMRdog (Stu I think) I will find out more if there's enough interest in this thread.
I'm also going to put it to the Hangmore guys as well.
It would be nice to have at 5 motards out there at once!

Treat the wet as if its dirt and you'll be fine!
I love the wet on the track! Always did! 4 wheels or 2 even on the DH Mtbike
Yeah - but not sure work will let me - I'll see closer to the time. What is the group booking (if we were to have one) cut off date?
The min is six to pre-book any its best to do it as soon as possible. At least 3 wks before. Also it has to be prepaid in full...
Group bookings gives a 10 to 20 dollar discount. I carn't remember how much, ref--- my thread( track days at broadford)...
They have tyre changing at a small charge and leathers for hire..

If I can get the day off work i'm there.
Will give a definate answer shortly.
I went for a spin in the rain the other day. Apparently Maxxis intermediates that have been sitting around for 12 months don't grip too well in sheeting rain.
Crashed twice in five laps, went home again. :lol2:
The front (proper wet) stuck like glue though, so I'd love to get out next time with a decent rear.

I'll probably be up for it. I dont mind riding in the rain, as long as the organisers actually let bikes on the track.

I've check my work roster and I actully have that Wkend off the good thing is that I might have money as well due wood sales...
I get in for free as a spectator anyway as I dont have 2wheels.
So it would be a good chance to meet some people... So at this stage I would say yes...
I suggest cut off date for prepayment the 21/5/08. We need definet for sures by them as once the payment is made theres no pull out except selling your ride to someone else...

Cheers Ian, so the cut off is the 21st May 2008. If we get 6 and we pay by then, we're in on the discount price of $110, otherwise it's $135.
Juz, no probs there's room for you on the ute mate. ;)
I've contacted them, they explained thats a great cut off as they only allow a few group bookings and I'll be right if I send in the application straight after that date. The way it works is one person books for the group and acts as a contact. All riders must be listed by name in the group APPLICATION and can only be changed up to three days before the ride date. Here is the site to veiw for conditions and info please view and read the conditions before committing.
www.championsridedays.com.au/day.asp
SO ALL THAT ARE COMMITTED SEND ME A PM ...
I WILL REPLY WITH A BANK ACC NO. FOR THE $110 TO BE PUT IN AND WHEN I HAVE THE CASH I WILL ( be off to bali) DIRECT DEPOSIT IT TO CHAMPS.
NOTE;;; ONCE PAYED THERE IS NO RE-FUND YOU CAN ONLY SELL YOUR RIDE TO A MATE (or third party) AND ONLY UP TO THREE DAYS BEFORE THE RIDE DATE;;;;;;
THIS MUST BE DONE BEFORE THE 21ST OF MAY OR IF YOUR WANTING A RIDE IT WILL COST $135 AFTER THAT...
THIS IS THE LAW ACCORDING TO BEDO...THERE RULES EVERYWHERE EVEN IN NATURE...LIKE IF YOUR NOT QUICK ENOUGH YOU'LL GET EATEN

"Riders Licence
You must present your licence (Road or Race) on the day. If you do not bring it, you may not be allowed to ride and your monies will be forfeited. No 'L' Plates are allowed."
I think you can have a suspended licence... Not 100% sure though.

I'd say they would need you licence at least for ID. From memory you can't get a single event licence without a drivers licence...
A valid or suspended full current state licence is all thats needed. You MUST have it with you to view on the day. They said even the licence suspension/cancelation notice is good enough...There is no one day licence needed just your riders/bike licence....
You only need a valid or canncelled (JUZ) Vic licence. A roadworthy bike helmet, boots and a full set of leathers . There is also sets of leathers for hire on the day for those who have none but they must be booked as they only have a limited no of sets.

I'm praying to the weather god for a fine Wkend so maybe SMRdog will make SEVEN
The magic six maybe the Magnificent Seven.( That was a all time Great Western, it will be even a better ride day for US..)
COME ON NICK get that bike going and the weather will be good, I know you dont like the WET....Is that the real reason for the NO????
The long term weather forcast is that we are looking at another Dry winter this year with no great break till spring...
Remember guys that the track is on my side of the Great Divide and the rain in Melb will not always reach us...
It can be pissing down in Melb and fine up here.

Unfortunately not. because i took so long to get everything together the return date has lapsed. so i'll just sell it and try and get some $$$ back.
Nick - you can pretty safely chamfer the back of the caliper if it's only hitting the spokes - I've seen a lot of calipers with this treatment.
Edit - Obviously if it's hitting by a lot (I'd say >5mm) it won't fit

The caliper already has some chamfered off and i'd say i needs at least another 3-5mm taken off
PM sent. Whos on the list now?
Think positive Nick. You still have 5 weeks to sort it.
Some questions answered...
THE BIKE STANDARD
The bike has to be of a roadworthy standard if it,s ridden as a daily ride...
The bike if a track bike only has to be of a good standard,
eg(race scruttinering standard)
Slicks and racing tyres can be used.(weather permitting.)
All fairings and parts must be secure, and no oil leaks.....
All bikes are scruttinered before riding so make sure they are of a good standard...common sence prevails in this instance.
THE LICENCE STANDARD
A current state licence. (NO LEARNERS PERMITS)
A suspended licence even the cancelation notice is good enough...
Or a MA Snrs endorsed racing licence.
I hope this clears up any more Q&A.
If there is someting just ask and I shall reply...
I now have the six
1. Mark
2.Dan
3.Chris
4.Gerry
5. JUZ
6.Brendan
Could all concerned please make payment from the 15th to the 19th May to allow for fund transfer, By the 21st. As of the 22nd our booking will be confirmed and paid for.
