View Full Version : GPTC Motard Days
Muzzard

Thanks to Braxton,
We have the opportunity to ride the Supermotards on fortnightly basis on Saturdays at GPTC.
We have had a couple of track days for the mini motards so far and interest is gathering as blokes put together bikes for the cheaper motarding fun.
Fullsized Supermotards can be ridden fortnightly Saturdays commencing on 3 SEP 05.
Cost is TBA, and sessions will be on a shared rotation basis until numbers improve..
Track Days/time is a bone of contention here in Victoria and across the Victorian based forums.
It has been made affordable price wise and also by location to the bulk of you.
So take advantage of it and use the facility, WHILE YOU CAN! :D

Jake you are excused, even if you never make it to another mate...
You have already well and truly demonstrated your passion with the butt-numbing adventures you have been on to get to the social activities.
But we would miss the back straight wheelstands on the mini!

Once again, many thanks to Braxton! So the next date will be the 3rd of Sepetmber? It's in my diary already 8) I'll also cross-pub on mcnews as well, as I'm sure a few guys there could be rustled up!

Good Idea Sibbo,
Would like the position of Advertising Executive for VSMR?
Need someone to do this sort of stuff if you are able.
Liase with printed media companies and place ads to a budget in a variety of mags and for both social and track riding opportunities.
Assist in the formulating of plans for the Motard Muster.
On that note, Do we have preference for location yet?
I still think the Alpine Areas have a bit to offer more so than just riding.
Theres some nice fish in the streams too, you know? ;)

23-08-2005, 07:22 PM
Hang on there Muzz, that sounds like responsibility! I might be able to manage some sort of stuff like that, but lets start slowly.
Ash, do you still own the husky? Has that go kart vibrated your B#^^s back up to where they came from? Cmon, be a man and flog that bloody 4 around a track, like it wants you to do.
Or even better, I will use your leathers and bike, so everyone will think your riding and not give you shit :D This offer applies to everyone ;)

Wobbly
25-08-2005, 12:58 AM
Good question for Braxton! But I don't think so, I'm pretty sure there's a few guys that get around there with 'lightweight' protection on ... so something sturdy with some armour would probably do the trick?

No one has contacted me Sibbo, So you may use the wheels again.
Get a pair of brake pads! I dont necessarily want the disc (That I haven't used yet) to be gouged by worn 'dirtbike pads.'

Some people have been asking whether or not the dirt section can be used at GPTC and to this I say,
I haven't approached Braxton as yet to use the dirt section, or to resurface it with roadbase for use this year,
But would be happy to do so.
In the intial instance is it not enough to have the sessions we get now for the price we pay and be happy about the track time?
I am only too happy to get the resheeting done but until we get more than 5 bikes there to use it every fortnight... bit of a dead investment...
With that said, Who's riding this coming weekend? (21st) 8)

I'm tied up that weekend :? The dirt section would be a nice to have but, as muzz says, lets start with what we have and be very grateful to braxton for it :) On the other hand, if there is an interest in getting the dirt section re-done then I'm sure we could form a bit of a working party here to help out whatever construction needs to be done in order to minimise costs 8)

Ash's helpers. Small problem. The front tyre is at mansfield, but the rear is at home. I can get the front tyre back for the next trak day.
I bashed myself on Sat. The track has been reworked and a new part (called technical bullshit part) with a small mound before a step-up to a table top after that. Well it was all good, the edges of the small mound would lift the back of the bike heaps onto the step up, so everyone was running in the middle, where it was jumping great.
It was in the arvo, I was going well and came up to a slower rider, who I decided to pass on the outside of technical bullshit. I gave the bike heaps more berries over the mound before the step-up (to compensate the back wheel wanting to lift), but it proceeded to send the backwheel over past the front wheel!!
The next part I know is trying to pull my hand out of some part of the bike then trying to stand up, not realising that I was still moving really fast, this resulting in me going into a really fast tumble. I finally stopped beside the table top in a ditch, full of water.
I then check my body for busted shit and it all seemed good, except for the huge amounts of pain.....everywhere. It was the first time after a crash I have not cared about my bike, I was trying to not die.
I had a sit down, untill the end of the session and then rode the bike to the car. The club guys were there @ my crash by the time I knew which way was up and were really good.
My hand was sore and started to get puffy, the teltale sign of broken bones. A mate helped my load the bike into the car and I drove home and then got driven to hospital.
It turns out I had broken the knuckle off the bone on part between my wrist and knuckle. The break is at the end right near the knuckle on my little finger on my left hand. The doctor was worried about internal bleeding (torn spleen), so I had a untra sound and then a cat (or CT?) scan. I had some die injected into me, which makes you feel all warm, partucally my ring hole. I thought I was going to shit myself!!! I managed to keep in in!
After the scans, no internal injuries, just (what I like to call) a side boob of fluid. It jiggles like a boob, feels a bit like a boob, but hurts like a cu^t.
I go for my op to put a pin in the bone on Monday, which should be fun....if you like needles and pain.
