I'm curious, first I read some questions about an smr510, then I find a question about a cr250... What are you up to Mister Milne.. :-k

I also wont mention anything about asking berg 550 questions, pricing up the 750 berg kit, and photochopping XR650 and DRZ motors into CR250 frames ;)

Just get an smr570 and be done with it!
You'd have a warranty aswell then, track days and all. :D

Tell me about it, johny at A1 was trying to convince me to trade the RSV against one rather than sell it on consignment

I've just got to work out whether I want a hottie to scream around on during weekend and keep the DRZ for my go-everywhere-high-mileage scoot, or go for another do-everything bike.

Do you know whether the sump size on the 570 is the piddly one from the TE610 or the big one for the TE610E? :-k

Not sure to be honest, but I know the manual on the 450 says that it is 1.3 litres but I put in 1.6 - 1.7 every time. So being an older motor it should be bigger.
Just remember that it has a 2 year warranty and that the service intervals in the manual say first service at 1000km's and then 5000km's them every 5000km's after that. It's there in black and white!!
I do mine more often because I like to waste oil. I mean I ride hard.
YOu could use the 570 every day if you wanted you would get to work with an even bigger smile :D :D :D :D

WHAT they put a right hand kicker on the 570!!!
I would have bought one, it had to be electric or right kick but it was left when I bought mine. DAMIT!!!

04 or 05 I think ...

Anyone know what the diff is between the SM570R and the TE570? Just suspension work? Same motor?

the TE has the same motor just different suspension and wheels/brakes. the TE may have a bigger tank. You can put the tc cams and piston in and the exhaust as well!!

Warranty schmarranty,
Dont you trust your own work Neil?
You just built a good DRZ that will run with the Euro stuff, And give you longevetity. ;)
Remember what I said about equity also being advantageous?
Dont listen to Ash, He's been on the Motul and 4 wheels lately you know, he could still be G'eed out from the turns...
Besides how many pelvis' have you got? You can only ride one at a time mate...

He's right you know.
If you really want some more excitement, paint that thumper-mono thing black and put some Suzuki stickers on it, then your rego plate will fit it :)

Yeah, you're probably right guys ... but I'm not happy unless I'm tinkering and the drz is coming to the end of its development ... so i'm starting to think about the next project of course :D

I reckon a SuperMono/SuperMoto conversion would fill the void for project nicely.
Some real trick top clamp and risers for the fat bars,
A Harlequin paint job after binnin' every thing that all resembles cosmetics, and for good measure a complete nickoshine wheel set (Same wheels recoated)
