hey all.
looking at gettting my rims anadised.
does any one know where a good place in melb to get them done is?
and any idea on how much it would cost?
i imagine that getting the rims re spoked would be the dearest bit.
also can the hub be anadised.
any help much appreciated.
thanx

AFAIK, if its aluminium it should be able to be anodised but as far as the hubs go you would need to completely strip out any other (eg steel) parts/components. The anodising thickes the surface oxide layer (with a coloured dye to make it look pretty) which may make it difficult to reassemble your hub.
I'd get the rim anodised and maybe look at painting the hubs.

Anodising is thinner than paint ..

Collins Anodic in Blackburn.
Also those Nicoshine guys do anodising too, out in Thomastown I think they are.

Look anodising on the net first, if you don't polish the rims within an inch of their lives it's gonna look matt and crap. Make sure you let the guys who are doing it know what end result you are after...

Assuming they are silver polished, I'd leave them.
But each to their own. 8)

I'd leavem unless they came anodised already your just gonna get mad when they scratch cause you went out of your way to anodise them. If your gonna do it ,get a color that normal rims dont come in. Why not powder coat?

I know, I was just thinking masking the vital bits to paint is easy. Should have been clearer... :)

Top work jove, the old sly anal bleaching joke in the rimming thread trick. ;)
