In response to discussions held with Braxton, We are having a ride to GPTC his Sunday, Rain, Hail, or Shine...
I will be coming down with bikes on board (minis) for the track day and have organised for us and this is an integral part of it, to attend there enmass to show support for Braxtons faith in us as blokes who will regularly attend track days if they were held regularly.
You have all been grizzlin for a while about the lack of off street motard venues and here it is, on your lap...
Support this weekends ride either by attending at the GPTC direct or joining in any ride (which this is about) to the GPTC.
Anybody want to kick off a meeting point and time?
(like I said I'm in the truck)

For those of you riding or bringing in your full sized bikes, If you were prepared correctly, leathers etc, I think Braxton may let you get at least a couple of laps in for a demo if there are a few spectators particularly from the other smaller bike disciplines there.
Braxton is good friends with Shannon Johnson, and indicated he would no doubt be interested in riding there when the track days comes to being and would make mention of the aims here to him.

So after all the banter about the coming opportunity to impress,
How many of you are actually going to back up that constant yearn for the track access?
Turn up and we are guaranteed another look, find other more important things to do on your Sunday, and so might Braxton, instead of welcoming you at the gate for the next track day! ;)

Yup, I'll see you there tomorrow, around 10 (or 11 depending on what time we get going ;) ). Jake, you still turning up at my place? Thinking about it, you'll be going almost directly past the GPTC on the way down anyway. But I can meet you at my place too if you prefer.
The map ref for everyone: >>> CLICK HERE (http://www.whereis.com/whereis/mapping/geocodeAddress.do?advertiserId=&streetNumber=465&streetName=mcdonalds+rd&poiType=&suburb=south+morang&state=Victoria&x=29&y=12) <<<
If anyone wants to meet up at my place, probably around 9.30 would be the go....Ash, you're coming right??
dicky
13-08-2005, 08:07 PM
I'll be there, leaving my joint at about 9:50 as its not far to go.
If Jake wants he can rock by my place, it's closer than Neils, but he's still almost gotta ride past the track. My place is just off the end of the ring road, so it's pretty easy to find. Map was posted earlier.
All welcome for a bbq and drink after we've finished at the track, I'll supply all the stuff.
dicky.

Some photos in the Gallery under Rides and Races, Untitled. I'll load more later.
If I can figure out how to change the folder name I will, otherwise Neil can do it for me.
It was bitterly cold.
Jake deserves a medal for coming all the way down, and he'll be needing a hot shower by the time he gets home.

I hope it was a good day, but my pissweak excuse is that I locked my bike at work. For some fugged reason my swipe card did not work and could not get my bike/gear from work.

Well after the weekends events, I would suggest we not bother Braxton unless the few regulars who always come are prepared to pay $1000 each for a track day  ...
Thanks to the blokes who are always dedicated and reliable, Dicky, Jake and Neil, And also to Chris for coming out in support
Say no more about track days in Melbourne,
now I will I concentrate on the tracks here where we might get access with other disciplines like practice days at Wilby Speedway and you run with the dirttrack bikes.
Wilby has sealed corners and compressed clay straights. We have a few motards out there that do not have internet access up here still and are reliant on me for news etc.. but would regularly post and attend events like Sam. Word is there are 3 being put together here now in sheds for road use. One Yamaha, a KTM 2 stroke and I'm not sure of the other believe an XR400, so we could see a reasonable turnout just from the Wangaratta community soon to local dirttrack races.
Short term plan,
Find yourself an industrial estate and go your hardest, or every day you go to work ride it like you stole it...
